🖐️That’s a wrap for a great weekend in Adelaide with Secret Harbour SLSC represented and competing at the 2026 Australian Pool Rescue Championships held at the SA Aquatic Centre.

Unfortunately due to illness Dave McCarron could not travel, so some frantic emails and coercing was done (not much mind you 😊 ) which saw Digby coming out of retirement so SHSLSC were able to field a Line Throw team - Cheers Diggers

Day 1
100 OBS- after a great start and introducing his head to an obstacle Pete finished 4th
MASTERS LINE THROW - the old team got back together after a 2.5 years break, had a respectable time of 15.6 but unfortunately DQ’d on a technical interpretation on some new rules.
OPEN LINE THROW- a 1:6 second improvement with 14.09 and 13th out of the 46 teams

Day 2
100m MANIKIN CARRY Silver behind a new Australian Record
50m MANIKIN CARRY Bronze behind another Australian Record

Day 3
100m MANIKIN CARRY holding off a fast finishing heat 2
50m FREESTYLE WITH FINS A PB time for Pete 21.8 and 21st.

It was great to see fantastic competition and comradery between the Masters clubs and state teams; and now our athletes / officials are having what they call a quick rest before training ramps up for worlds in Nov/Dec. 🔥

Pool Rescue is a big part of our Life Savers training during off season and each year the results achieved are amazing!

Firstly a huge thank you must go to everyone behind the scenes – being Peter Traeger, Felicity Metcalfe Carolyn Wilson and many more.

🔥At the recent Royal Lifesaving Nationals our Secret Harbour team finished 2nd in the Invitational Category; receiving an acknowledgement award for their CPR competition efforts. Well done everyone, we are very grateful of your efforts and the AED Trainer will come in very handy for the lead up to Season 26/27.

🔥Following the Royals was the Surf Life Saving WA Pool Rescue State Championships on the weekend. It was great seeing the Secret Harbour Club cap in action; with an impressive 5th overall standing in W.A. 🤍💙❤️
