Slowly we build - ourselves, our communities, and our parts in this world.
Although it is easy, and sometimes instinct, to judge others, it is important to remember that without knowing why people do things we can not understand them. Without ourselves experiencing the same, we cannot empathise.
So, we focus on our own journey - struggle, pain, loss, triumph, celebration, introspection, accountability, formidability, sensitivity, self-discipline, and self-criticism. To forgive yourself of your inadequacies is good. To love and accept them as temporary and transient states is better.
Our Budo is our own - shared with the commonality of struggle. In good training, we all struggle, so we can smile and support that shared experience. This way, we can respect each other, despite not knowing what the struggle is to each other. This way we can support each other, for the common goal of perseverance and personal development.
Budo, born of Bujutsu, is always about combat. Engaging in and of different dimensions, sure; and everyone’s subjective experience is different, sure. But always, combat.
