The Dorset Community Men’s Shed was founded in October 2001. A management team of five organise the shed with a paid coordinator running the shed on a day to day operation. There are 30 men and women as members and a constant attendance in the work area of 6-8 men and women on each day the shed is open, which is three days a week. The projects undertaken are many and varied from repairs to furnitu

re and making of new furniture to toys and items of interest such as trophies or bread boards. Each project is initiated as a response to a member of the public coming to the shed or someone attending wanting to make a particular item. Projects made for and sold to the public are used to help cover overheads and projects made personally are costed to cover any expense to
