πŸ”₯ HAZARD REDUCTION BURN – THURSDAY 6 AUGUST πŸ”₯

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is planning a hazard reduction burn at Middle Head, along Grassy Head Road, on Thursday 6 August, weather permitting.

If you’re in the area, you may notice smoke throughout the day. This is part of a planned operation to help reduce bushfire risk.

🚨 Please only call Triple Zero (000) if you see a fire that is unattended or appears to be out of control.

HAZARD REDUCTION BURN SUNDAY 12/4/26
STUARTS POINT

With favourable weather conditions forecast over the coming days, a hazard reduction burn is Planned to by conducted by firefighters to the north of the town ship along Grassy head road and back towards Hennessy street.

With SE winds predicted most of the smoke from the hazard reduction should be sent to the north west away from town.

It’s is recommended:

Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes
Keep outdoor furniture under cover to prevent ember burns
Retract pool covers to prevent ember damage
Remove washing from clotheslines
Ensure pets have a protected area
Vehicles must slow down, keep windows up, turn headlights on
Sightseers must keep away from burns for their own safety
If you have asthma or a lung condition, reduce outdoor activities if smoke levels are high and if shortness of breath or coughing develops, take your reliever medicine or seek medical advice
