NEBR GROM RASHIES HAVE LANDED!

We'll be launching our summer program in a few months! What to expect:

NEBR WOMEN’S Melbourne URBAN SURF TRIP

4–6 SEPTEMBER

A weekend away for the NEBR women to get some waves, sharpen up the skills and have a good time doing it.

NEBR is funding Flow State video analysis + coaching for the trip. *limited

The rest is self-funded.

Plus, it’s Mel’s birthday, so obviously we had to make a trip of it.

Open to female members of other boardrider clubs too.

NEBR has just taken delivery of a fresh stack of threads and they're taking up valuable shed space!

A few of you have been asking when the merch was landing... well, here it is.
Do us a favour and help relieve us of having to store all this stuff. Seriously. Please.

The long sleeves feature "tough sticker" print on each arm, so you can look cool when you're cold, grumpy, or just trying to intimidate the lineup from the beach.

Andy just got back from an epic week at the Surfing Australia HPC completing the Club Coach Ready Program, a fantastic opportunity to train with like minded individuals from Boardrider clubs around the country, under some of Australia’s best high performance coaches.

We now have a fully qualified Club Coach within NEBR, kicking off with a women’s progression video review session in the coming weeks, and prepping for a summer Junior development program.

The action gets underway for day two of the ECC from 8:30am at Dark Hollow today, with two of our five NEBR members still in the mix.

Yesterday, .meady booked himself a spot in the Open Men's Quarterfinals with a solid day's surfing. A big well done also to who put in a strong effort in a tough Open Men's heat.
In the women's, and impressed in their first ever East Coast Classic, both progressing through to the Open Women's Semi Finals. Mel also posted the highest women's score of the day with a cracking 8-point ride.
In what can only be described as a proper gutter-grovel, Andy Hoult found enough nuggets to put together a tidy 15-point heat total and book his place in the Over 40s Final.

Year 2000 ECC, when Graphic design was learnt not taught! Long live local core lord creativity.

We'll have a few NEBR members keeping up tradition and surfing in the comp next weekend at the .anz & .anz East Coast Classic so some get behind them!

Anyone keen to help out also let us know.

NEBR round ONE (attempt three) took place today in really fun conditions at South Shelly Beach. The rain held off and with a building north swell we saw a strong turnout, all having a good time. Big shout out to Tank for judging all day, for getting back involved with the club, taking some big drops, pushing everyone in the opens, and new member showing us how it’s done in the longboard. The open final came down to a 2 point spread between Gerome, Mick, and Andy with Andy taking the win with a big backhand hammer being the stand out turn, and the Women’s was close between Mel and Jenna with Mel picking the best waves and throwing some spray to take it out. The Logs enjoyed some of the longest waves seen at Shelly making the competitive heat fun spectators (particularly the run around). The alt board heat sounded like a good idea, but judging was impossible when contestants are riding boards ranging from 5’ Fishes, 9’ Logs to Foils. So we will say everyone won…

Let’s try again, Sunday the 3rd (this Sunday), if you previously entered for last weekend we will keep you in, if you want to enter let us know, will be plenty of swell, most likely South Shelly or Perons as a backup if the wind is cooked.
