I provide Auslan Communication Support/General Support to clients. I have a current VIT PTT LOTE. What does Pay it Forward mean to me? Throughout my Auslan learning journey I was embraced, accepted, encouraged and nurtured by many Deaf people that have become close friends. The expression 'Pay it Forward' is to respond to a person's kindness to oneself by being kind to someone else. For all the ki
ndness and welcoming shown to Me ... I then pay that kindness and welcoming forward to someone else on the same journey. To show my respect back to the community that have embraced and accepted me I volunteer on three Deaf committees and am involved in other groups as well as volunteering my time where opportunities arise. As another show of appreciation for every day that I work and earn money through Auslan I 'Pay Forward' $5 per day (but in lump sum at financial year end) to the Deaf Community. I will choose at random which sports clubs/teams or organisations to donate each year. If you are involved in a Deaf Sporting club and are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising events, organising, setting up, filling volunteers rosters ... contact Me. If you are a student of Auslan (Deaf/HoH/hearing) looking for student support, one on one tutoring, study groups, assistance or support building memory skills, or are looking for a Deaf tutor ... contact Me. If you are interested in weekly/fortnightly/monthly social catchups to practice Auslan or discuss course or would like to join a walking group ... contact Me. My support work covers many different areas including but not limited to making appointments, attending appointments, assisting with letter/email writing, making phone calls, attending workshops, job searching, writing resumes, applying for work, an ally to attend events with, helping you work on health and fitness goals, other study/work future goals ... socialising and making new friends.
