Bay & Basin Community Resources (BBCR) is a community-focused, ‘not for profit’ organisation serving the Shoalhaven and Illawarra regions. BBCR operates as an independent, ‘non government’ entity, but does receive government support for several of our important programs. For 30 years, BBCR has been providing services to our local residents, supporting our communities and working to build a brighter tomorrow.

Join amazing locals like Kath & Lily who are building rewarding careers supporting others. ⭐

BCR’s Care Career Pathways - local outreach training opportunity is starting soon!

If you’re aged 17–24 or are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, come along to our Information Session — 10am Tuesday 23 June.

Enjoy morning tea, have a yarn, meet the team, and find out how you can access:

• Free short training, including First Aid
• Free full Certificate III in Individual Support
• Pathways into rewarding careers in aged care and disability support

These courses are delivered by our wonderful partners Kiama & Shoalhaven Community College, with students supported every step of the way by BCR’s incredible Community Services Team.

You’ll also have access to wrap-around support, including transport assistance, styling sessions, learner driver mentoring, Op Shop and Pocket Pantry vouchers, and more.

Congratulations to the participants who completed the BCR bootcamp Introduction to Canva Course, they produced some amazing work, showcasing the greatly improved digital skills they developed throughout the program. The brief was to create promotional materials for mock drive-in family movie nights and charity fundraisers, and the results were truly impressive 👏

A special thank you to our wonderful partners Kiama & Shoalhaven Community Colleges for providing outreach education to the Bay & Basin community and helping make learning accessible for everyone. Their support has played an important role in empowering local residents with valuable new skills and opportunities 🙌

This National Volunteer Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to our incredible team of volunteers at BCR Communities. 💙

From the volunteer members of our Board and Advisory Bodies helping guide the future of BCR Communities, to the volunteers who support our aged care and NDIS clients with warmth, kindness and companionship - your contribution means so much to the people and communities we support.

To the volunteers in our 2nd Chance Op Shop and Pocket Pantry who sort donations, stock shelves, create emergency food hampers and provide practical support to local people doing it tough - thank you for the care, generosity and dignity you bring to every interaction.

To the passionate volunteers who keep Bay & Basin Community Radio 92.7FM on the air and our local stories and voices alive, thank you for the time, energy and heart you pour into the station.

And to our amazing team of 18 volunteer driver mentors in the Ls to Ps Program- thank you for helping local young people build confidence, independence and a brighter future.
Thank you for everything you do - not just this week, but every week. We simply couldn’t do it without you.
