***Expressions of interest closing this Friday***

Starfish nippers is an amazing inclusivity program for children and youth with additional needs to learn surf safety and skills.

This season 24/25 starfish nippers will run as a 6 week program on the following dates:
- December 1st
- December 8th
- December 15th (Christmas nippers)
- February 2nd
- February 16th
- February 23rd (Starfish windup)

Expression of interest open on the club website at https://www.mandurahslsc.asn.au/starfish-nipper-registration

Like last season spots are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis however spots will be allocated to those returning members as a priority before opening up further spots.

Looking forward to meeting you all down the beach for an awesome summer

Hi starfish nipper families,

The club is hosting a NRC (Nipper Rescue Certificate) course this weekend if any of the parents are interested. This course allows you to be a helper with nippers and allow you to go out further then waist depth when helping. Below is the information posted by the club:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi Starfish Nipper Families,

Many of you already know me due to previous seasons but for those new families, my name is Claire and this season I will be your Starfish Nipper Coordinator (taking over from Tash). I am here to answer any questions you may have and organise starfish nippers down the beach each Sunday.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
⭐️First day of Starfish Nippers: SUNDAY 26th November
⭐️All participants (paid or unpaid) must please Register HERE(https://www.mandurahslsc.asn.au/starfish-nipper-registration)(this is a new form for starfish nippers that EVERYONE MUST FILL OUT) and Pay for club registration HERE(https://www.mandurahslsc.asn.au/product-page/membership ) by 16th Nov to confirm participation in this season. If you have not Registered online via this form we can not process your enrolment
⭐️Spaces are limited. Please register via the form linked above and pay before 16th Nov.

⭐️Starfish Nippers meet on the beach under the gazebo (not on the grass with Woodside Nippers). We are easy to spot but if you do get lost, please don’t hesitate to ask anyone in red and yellows or club uniform and they will be able to direct you to us.
⭐️Each Starfish Nipper will receive their nipper pack on the first day of nippers
⭐️Starfish Nippers do not need to attend the swim evaluation.
⭐️Starfish nippers will begin each Sunday at 8:45am and end by 10:30am.
⭐️A parent/guardian needs to be down the beach at all times in close proximity to starfish nippers. Most parents sit under the gazebo and have a catch up.
⭐️If you arrive down the beach before 8:45am please keep an eye on your Nipper as the Starfish Nipper helpers won’t begin activities until 8:45am.
⭐️Please send me through the vest/shirt size of your Nipper, so that I can organise their Nipper Pack.
⭐️It is a requirement by Surf Life Saving Australia that all Nippers wear the supplied hi vis vest during activities for safety.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE - AMANDA BETTERIDGE

Introducing the Mandurah Surf Life Saving Director of Finance, Amanda Betteridge.

Amanda and her Family actively participate in all the club has to offer!

On Sunday Nipper mornings you will find them getting stuck into the fun with husband Chris leading the charge as an Age Group Manager and Amanda keeping her keen eye on the club Financial position as well as assisting families with their club Registration payments.

Amanda works closely with our other Upper Management club members and is another key part of the club's success. Some of her duties include allocating funds where they are needed to allow us to continue to provide life saving, community building services to the Peel Region.

Without our dedicated clubbies none of this would be possible and we are very proud of the work that our board puts in.

The next time you see Amanda around the club, make sure you say "Hi!" and ask how you can help contribute to our clubs fundraising pool!

DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION - VICTORIA HIGGINS

Introducing the Mandurah Surf Life Saving Director of Administration, Victoria Higgins.

Victoria and the Higgins Family have been active Mandurah SLSC members for many years, as the kids have worked their way through the Woodside Nippers ranks. Their gracious duties have included; active Patrol duties, Woodside Nippers Age Group Management, Surf Sports assistance and Committee member contributions!

Victoria is the very helpful hand behind the MHSLSC scenes, using her administrative skills to welcome our new and returning members, assist with membership enquiries and keep our club information up to date.

We are very grateful to have such a committed family devoted to our club!

The next time you see Victoria around the club, make sure you say "Hi!" and reach out if you need any Registration support our club information.

Who snagged a sizzle?! 😋😋😋

Our lucky Come and Try Day visitors got to chow down on some delicious fresh bread rolls from Bakers Delight and scrumptious sausages supplied by Coles both in Meadow Springs Shopping Centre!

This season you will be able to purchase a tasty post-Nippers sausage sizzle and drink to help us raise funds to support our club.

We are so grateful to have had the awesome club Youth group volunteer to take some shifts, and have had some amazing members also put their hands up to help.
