Yesterday Dogs Queensland hosted an impressive ANZAC Day dusk service with addresses by Milton Dick MP and Katrina Santas. Heather proudly presented our wreath as President of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Queensland 🐾🪻

Animals played a crucial, sometimes overlooked role in the ANZAC forces during World War I, serving as transport, messengers, and companions. Horses, donkeys, mules, and camels carried supplies, while dogs and pigeons delivered critical messages. Over 136,000 Australian horses were sent overseas, and mascots like dogs helped maintain morale in the trenches.
