Samford Support Network -A snapshot!!

WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS PLEASE!

What is the Samford Support Network?
The Samford Support Network (SSN) is a small team of local volunteers who work together to provide support to our Samford community clients. Our volunteers provide transport for medical drives, personal drives, Wednesday fortnightly shopping, fortnightly Friday social outings and gardening/handyman tasks.

Do you receive government funding?
No, we are totally community supported through the generosity of local businesses, other community groups and individuals.

What do volunteers do?
Once approved by the Management Committee, volunteers decide what areas they are interested in.
For example -General drives- these might be local medical or personal appointments, drives to medical appointments into the city, the hospitals and or specialist centres. We are finding more volunteers are needed to drive clients to hospital appointments in the city.,
Wednesday fortnightly shopping- our volunteers drive our clients to and from Samford and Brookside shopping centres and join with them for morning tea and give assistance where needed with their shopping.
Friday fortnightly social gatherings-our volunteers drive clients to and from local and outside places for morning tea/lunch and join with the clients to enjoy each others' company. This is one group that has grown significantly as we have many clients who need social connection and camaraderie as well as a great morning tea or lunch. We also try to arrange guest speakers for our clients.
We also have a gardening/handyman group that assists clients with one-off minor tasks in the home and garden.

Do we need more volunteers?
YES PLEASE -our client base is growing steadily.

Do I have to commit a certain amount of time or days to volunteer?
No- We are very grateful to have volunteers who can spare any time to help.

Wishing everyone a Very Happy Christmas in the Village. It's been a massive amount of work for some many people and looks like it will be an AMAZING evening. Thank you to the Samford Progress Association for once again running this huge event. Thank you to all these local businesses who have supported our SSN raffle this year. We have 3 baskets with the approx value over $600 and we are so very grateful for their generosity.
Please come down to John Scott Park and purchase some tickets and glow products at our stall. All proceeds go to the fully community funded Samford Support Network. 🎄🥰

Good Morning everyone,
The Samford Support Network(SSN) is very excited to be participating once again in Christmas in the Village with our Glow Products and Raffle Stall. This is a long tradition for the SSN and we look forward to having a fantastic night with our local Community. This is our big fundraiser for the year so please support us at our Stall in John Scott Park or our volunteers walking around selling raffle tickets.
We are totally community supported and we thank our local businesses, community groups and individuals for their ongoing support. 🎄
