🍩 DOUGHNUTS 4 DEMENTIA 🍩

The P&C is teaming up with Olivia Mitchell in Grade 5, who has brought Doughnuts 4 Dementia to life to raise funds and awareness for a cause very close to her heart.

We LOVE seeing our little people realise that their voices matter, that you don’t have to be a grown-up to advocate for something you believe in, raise awareness or make a difference.

So Samford, let’s get behind Olivia, support a very worthwhile cause and show her that all voices can make an impact.

Order via QKR! by 23 October for delivery on Friday 6 November.

Dozen packs: Delivered straight to your child’s classroom before the last bell, ready to take home and share (or not... no judgement).
Individual doughnuts: Collected from the Tuckshop and enjoyed at second break.

🍎 TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY - FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER 🍎

There are teachers. And then there are Samford teachers. 💚

Their day doesn’t end at 3pm. They think about our little people long after they’ve left the carpark. They celebrate their wins, worry about their struggles and champion them every step of the way.

The impact they have is nothing short of life forming. Words spoken in a classroom can stay with little ears long after graduation. A teacher can make a child believe they are clever, brave, creative, capable... and we believe that matters.

So, Teacher Appreciation Day is a BIG deal at Samford.

The P&C kick start the day with our annual P&C BBQ Breakfast for our teachers, and we need some helping hands to make it happen.

Then we hand the reins over to our little people and families. A handwritten note. A drawing. A flower. A small surprise. A heartfelt thank you. No gesture is too small when it says we see you, and we appreciate you.

We're expecting two brand new BBQs courtesy of the fine folk at Doyles Timber & Hardware!

We put the call out, and boy did they answer. We're very grateful to welcome 'Jen' and 'Laurie' to the Samford State School P&C Family. First, we need to collect them from Mitchelton and we've been advised the Jen and Laurie are sizeable, so a ute or similar will be required.

💛 GRANDPARENTS DAY - WEDNESDAY 21 OCTOBER 💛

We’re inviting all of our wonderful Grandparents and Special People to join us for a special morning.

The morning kicks off at 10am with a special assembly in the hall. Following assembly, Grandparents and Special People are invited to join us for morning tea during first break, provided by the P&C, behind the library near the small courts.

Bring along a picnic blanket, grab a book from the lovely Kerry in the library and find a spot to share a story with your grandkids/little people. 📚💛

Our Book Fair will also be open before school and during first break, so Grandparents and students can pop in together, have a browse and purchase a book (or two… we fully support Grandparent level book spoiling 😉).

A quick note: Morning tea will be provided by the P&C for Grandparents and Special People. Students will need to bring their first break food as usual or order from the Hungry Owl.

We can’t wait to welcome some very special members of our village through the gates. 💚

Friday 18th September - last day of term 3
Tuesday 6th October - first day of term 4

Tam and the team will be busy behind the scenes packing down the kitchen, taking stock and restocking everything ready for a very busy (and very hungry!) Term 4. 💚

A huge thank you to our families for all your support of the Hungry Owl this term - every lunch order, snack and coffee helps support our school.
