Request for Adult Volunteers

107ACU is currently looking for passionate and motivated adult volunteers to help support and mentor the next generation of young Australians.

You don’t need previous military experience — just a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for youth development.

As an adult volunteer, you can help with:
• Leadership and mentoring
• Fieldcraft and outdoor activities
• Administration and logistics
• Community engagement
• Supporting cadets during weekly parade nights, exercises and camps

There are opportunities available for both:
• Defence Approved Helpers (non-uniformed support roles)
• Army Cadet Staff (uniformed leadership roles)

Minimum requirements include:
✔️ 18 years or older
✔️ Working With Children Check
✔️ National Police Check
✔️ Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our cadets

The Australian Army Cadets is a community partnership program focused on leadership, resilience, teamwork and personal development for young people. Adult volunteers play a vital role in making these opportunities possible.

If you’ve ever wanted to give back to the community, develop new skills, or be part of something rewarding — we’d love to hear from you.

This National Volunteer Week, we would like to take a moment to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers of 107 Army Cadet Unit.

Your dedication, time, patience, and countless behind-the-scenes hours do not go unnoticed. From planning activities and training nights to mentoring, supporting, and encouraging our young cadets, you play a vital role in shaping confidence, leadership, resilience, and teamwork within our unit.

The commitment you show each week helps create opportunities and experiences that our cadets will carry with them for life. Whether it’s giving up weekends, late nights, or personal time, your effort and passion make a lasting difference.

Thank you for everything you do for our cadets, our unit, and our community. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

Our 1A recruits have been hard at work developing their military navigation skills this week. Cadets learnt the fundamentals of how to read a map, identify various map elements including rivers, buildings, contours, scale, and grid references, while also learning how these features are used to navigate and plan routes in the field.

Working through practical activities as a team, recruits built confidence in map reading, communication, problem solving, and teamwork — all essential skills within the cadet program.

Great effort shown by all recruits as they continue progressing through their training. Well done team!

Today, proudly commemorated ANZAC Day with respect, reflection and pride. Our cadets represented the unit and the wider cadet organisation with professionalism, dedication and honour throughout the day.

We are incredibly proud of the way our cadets conducted themselves and the respect shown in remembering those who served and sacrificed. ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on courage, mateship and service — values our cadets continue to uphold.

A special thank you to OpOz and HomeFront Australia for their support and contribution to today’s commemorations. Your support helped make the day even more meaningful.

Well done to all involved in making today such a memorable occasion. Be proud of your accomplishments today and the way you honoured the spirit of ANZAC.

Lest We Forget. 🌺
