Trailblazer Venturer Unit

The active Trailblazer Venturer Unit at Salisbury Scout Group, South Australia.

Meeting times and places depend on our program but our usual times are Fridays 7:00 to 9:00 per school term at the Salisbury Scout Hall. This is the public face of Trailblazers for promotion of the Unit and connection with current & past members. This page is subscribes to the Scouts SA guidelines for Social Networking and of course keeps to the Scout Law & Promise. "Yorick" (ancient rams skull trophy in the den) is the mascot & logo for Trailblazer.

Our venturers went on an op shop adventure on the weekend. We went to 7 op shops and found some interesting things on our adventures.

Our venturers had a great time at the Salisbury youth market yesterday. Thank you for helping us fundraise some spending money for one camp in a couple of weeks.

Get ready for a night of creativity, flavour, and friendly rivalry!

My Unit Rules 2026 is an exciting Venturers and Rovers cooking competition where teams will battle it out across three delicious courses:
- 🥗 Entrée
- 🍽️ Main course (served with a drink)
- 🍰 Dessert

Each group must serve their dishes on time to impress the judges and earn top marks. Timing, taste, and presentation all count toward the final score.

At the end of the evening, the team with the highest score will be crowned Champion of My Unit Rules 2026 🏆.

Come along to cheer, taste, and celebrate the culinary talents of our Venturers and Rovers it’s a night you won’t want to miss!

Congratulations to Monique and Jules on their nominations for the City of Salisbury Citizen of the Year Award.

Both nominations are a wonderful recognition of their outstanding contributions to Scouting and the positive impact they have had on young people and the wider community. Their dedication, generosity, and tireless behind-the-scenes work truly reflect the spirit of volunteering and service.

Our group is incredibly fortunate to have such committed and inspiring leaders. A very well-deserved honour for you both

There are many fabulous youth-led organisations and initiatives underway in SA. Recently, I got to meet with the Youth Commissioners from Scouts SA.

This team sent me the best video to welcome me to the role, which I then video-responded to, kick-starting the building of a relationship. As we discussed, relationships are at the heart of successful advocacy and strong partnerships strengthen our voices and potential to influence positive change.

What I learnt about Scouts SA:

📣 This organisation has a long history and has really evolved to embrace youth-leadership, which is at the forefront of Scouts SA today. Young people lead teams, run activities, coordinate events and are establishing new ways to shape organisation decisions and influence change in the community.

💡 "Its not just about camping and the outdoors" - Scouts SA provides a way to connect with other young people locally, nationally and internationally, participate in a wide variety of activities, learn skills and even work towards gaining experience that can be recognised for VET qualifications.

💥 Finally, we share the same commitment - to value and foster the ideas of children and young people, to grow, expand and diversify the breadth and impact of young SA community leaders.

Looking forward to collaborating in future (and learning how to tie the friendship knot)!
