🌟 Our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) team is currently seeking new volunteers to visit socially isolated older people across the Gawler, Elizabeth, and Salisbury council areas.

For as little as one hour per week, you could make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person by offering companionship, a friendly chat, and connection. Your time could help brighten someone’s week, reduce loneliness, and create a friendship that is rewarding for both of you 💙

Our ACVVS and NVSA teams will be at the Art of Ageing Well Expo this Wednesday at the Salisbury Community Hub.

This Wednesday is the Art of Ageing Well Expo at Salisbury Community Hub!

Running from 10am to 1.30pm, this free event is focused on ageing well, staying active, and connecting with local service providers.

There will be:
• Over 25 stallholders ready to help you with navigating aged care services and to understand what is available.
• Service providers hosting on-the-spot interviews for over 100 job vacancies and volunteer roles.
• Wellbeing activities promoting fitness, mobility, health, and socialisation.
• Live performances and free caricatures for extra fun and entertainment.

Whether you're seeking local support services or job opportunities, this is a can't miss expo for all things ageing and aged care.

And that’s a wrap on National Volunteer Week 2026! 🎉 We had a fantastic celebration with our Northern Volunteering team and Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) volunteers, recognising the incredible contribution our volunteers make to the greater northern community every single day.

This year was especially meaningful as we celebrated two of our longest serving ACVVS volunteers. Greta is now in her 33rd year of volunteering - an extraordinary achievement and testament to her compassion and dedication. We also recognised Elaine, who has only recently retired after being South Australia’s longest serving CVS/ACVVS volunteer, first joining Northern Volunteering in 1992.

During her time with our team, Elaine created 20 meaningful one-on-one friendships with residents at Para Hills Residential Aged Care, bringing connection, companionship and kindness to so many lives over the years.

We are so grateful for our team of volunteers and all that they do ❤️
