π Carers Pamper & Wellbeing Morning | 14 October 2026 π
As part of National Carers Week 2026 "Care for a Carer: Making Carers Visible," Colyton Neighbourhood Centre proudly hosted a special Carers Pamper & Wellbeing Morning to celebrate and thank the incredible carers in our community.
The day was officially opened by Mayor Todd Carney, who acknowledged the invaluable role carers play and encouraged them to take time to care for themselves. We were also delighted to welcome Sophia from Wellways/Carer Gateway, who launched the "We Care Project."
The morning was filled with opportunities for carers to relax, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved self-care. From fitness demonstrations, relaxation techniques, singing, and wellbeing activities to facials, hand massages, nail painting, and hair styling, there truly was something for everyone. Carers also had access to a range of health, wellbeing, and support services, providing valuable information, resources, and connections.
A special thank you to the Year 12 Hospitality Students from Colyton High School, who created and catered the event. The food was amazing, the drinks were next level, and their professionalism and hospitality helped make the day even more memorable.
π Congratulations to Belinda - Winner of a 2-night stay at the Women's Healing Sanctuary, Port Stephens
π Congratulations to Patricia - Winner of a $200 Sinclair's Restaurant gift card at The Log Cabin
π Congratulations to all our lucky door prize winners on the day! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped create such a fun, exciting, and memorable atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter, and celebration.
We extend our sincere thanks to our wonderful volunteers, guest speakers, stallholders, and community organisations who helped make the day such a success. Your generosity, support, and commitment helped create a welcoming and uplifting experience for everyone who attended.
We would also like to thank the Rev Bill Crews Foundation, Penrith Women's Health Centre, My Plan Manager, Nutrimetics, and the many organisations that generously donated prizes and pamper items, including Taronga Zoo, Bunnings, Clover Fields, Vinnies Penrith, Penrith Panthers, Calmsley Hill, Sinclair's Restaurant, Reset Wellness & Recovery Studio, Cancer Wellness Support, Women's Healing Sanctuary, Chasin Mowers, and St Marys Diggers & Band Club. Your generosity helped make our carers feel celebrated, appreciated, and truly valued.
Most importantly, thank you to all the carers who attended. The day was filled with laughter, connection, support, pampering, and a genuine sense of community. It was wonderful to see carers take time for themselves, connect with others who understand their journey, and experience the care and appreciation they so richly deserve.
You are seen. You are valued. You are appreciated. Thank you for all that you do. π
