UQ Japan Society (Formerly UQ Japan Exchange - UQJX) or UQJS for short, is the Japanese Society at the University of Queensland. We’re a fun social club for international and domestic students who are interested in Japan, its culture and language! We have Semesterly Welcome Events, Weekly Cultural Events, End of Semester Otsukarekai Party, End of Year Bounenkai Party, and more! If you would like t

Lace up your sneakers and get ready to move because it’s time for another Undoukai!! 👟Back by popular demand, this year we’re teaming up with both QUT Japan and Griffith Nakama for an action-packed day of sports-themed fun! 🏐 With relays, dodgeball, and tug of war just to name a few activities, there’s something for everyone! 🙌

Our biggest and best Undoukai yet will be a great chance to make new friends from the other clubs and loosen up over midsem break, so come on down! 😎

Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral arrangements 🍃🇯🇵 The art allows you to connect with nature and tap into your inner zen through the intentional placement of natural elements 🫶🌟 UQJX is bringing you the opportunity to take part in the unique experience of an introductory Ikebana workshop 😌🌸 We have invited professional instructor from the Ikenobo school, Yukiko Taki , to guide you through the workshop🪷💕

Yukiko will take you through the intricacies of the traditional Japanese art form in an accessible format through presentations and visual aids to help you to understand the elegance and focus on simplicity offered by the Ikenobo school of ikebana.

With the opportunity to create your own Ikebana piece to take home, this workshop is definitely not one to miss.

生け花は日本独特の伝統芸術です🍃🇯🇵 生け花は、葉や花、その他の自然の要素を生けるもので、調和、バランス、自然への感謝の哲学に根ざしています🫶🌟今回、UQJXは生け花教室というユニークな体験に参加する機会を提供します😌🌸今回UQJXはその一流派である池坊の師範である Yukiko Taki 先生をお招きし、初心者向けのクラスを開催します！

華道には様々な流派がありますが、池坊の特徴は、優雅さとシンプルさに重点を置いていることです🪷💕このクラスでは生け花の歴史や花型を学びながら、一人一つの生け花を作りそのまま家にお持ち帰りできます🏡💐
