Are you or someone you know living with a person with Dementia? If so, the West Pymble D-Café might be able to offer you some respite. We meet each Tuesday at the West Pymble Aquatic Centre starting at 10:30. We begin with a half hour of light exercise and then go to the café upstairs for coffee and conversation.
You and the person you are caring for are very welcome. We do not give medical advice, but you will find like-minded people who will be able to talk with both of you in a relaxed atmosphere. The D-Café, short for Dementia Café, is staffed by volunteers from Ku-ring-gai Rotary, and organized by Ku-ring-gai Neighborhood Centre. The only cost involved is if you wish to purchase a coffee or other drink from the café. Biscuits or cake are supplied. If you would like more information please contact Kerry at [email protected], or Mike at [email protected].

In honour of the 2026 Refugee Week theme, “A Million Stories,” KNC Care was proud to organise a community event alongside Ku-ring-gai Council Hornsby Shire Council and the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Multicultural Network.
We were privileged to hear from refugee advocates Manal Gaber and Hanna Gerges, who generously shared their stories of hope, resilience and hardship. Their words were a moving reminder that behind every journey is a story that deserves to be heard.
The event was made even more special by musician Ashkan Ghaffari, whose beautiful and heartfelt performance brought warmth to all.
It was wonderful to see local residents and community organisations come together over delicious food and a shared purpose to welcome and stand with people who are building new lives in Australia.
At KNC Care, we believe community is built through understanding and connection. Events like this remind us of the strength that comes from listening to one another’s stories.

When did you last visit the doctor?
You can help improve men's health outcomes in Australia by encouraging the men in your life to get a health check up. Today is the first day of Men's Health Week. On average men are more likely to develop heart disease, avoid doctor's visits and be less socially connected than women. With frequent exercise, joining social groups and visiting the GP regularly as you age you can do your bit to help men stay healthier for longer.

Join us for Refugee Day on 16 June.
This year marks a major milestone - Australia has now issued one million humanitarian visas since World War II. Around the world millions of people are displaced from their homes due to persecution and conflict, making arduous and difficult journeys to try and reach safety. Come and help us honour these brave individuals and families and fight for a better future.
Hear inspiring stories, beautiful music and share delicious food at Gordon Baptist Church from 9:30 - 1:00 pm on 16th June. This event is in partnership with Hornsby Council, Ku-ring-gai Council and the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Multicultural Network.

KNC’s helpful NDIS tips Friday
Many participants wait until the house feels overwhelming before asking for cleaning support.
Regular cleaning and keeping the home clutter free can help reduce stress and also lower the risk of trips and falls around the home.
If cleaning is becoming difficult to manage, speak to your Support Coordinator to see whether cleaning supports are included in your NDIS plan or whether it may be appropriate to have them added.
Save this tip or share it with someone who may find it helpful.

KNC helpful NDIS tips Friday
NDIS paperwork for participants can feel overwhelming sometimes and you are not alone in that.
One simple tip for participants is to create a folder on your phone called “NDIS” and save photos of your receipts, invoices, reports, appointment notes and any important updates.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. Even small steps can make things easier when it’s time for a review or when you need to find information quickly.
A little organisation today can save a lot of stress later.
KNC Care is here to support you with kindness, respect and understanding.
