Rutherglen Agricultural Society Inc

Rutherglen Agricultural Society Inc Home of the Rutherglen Agricultural Show & Wine Shows. Facilities available for hire all year round.

The Rutherglen Annual Agricultural Show is the last remaining event of its kind within Indigo Shire and every effort is made to retain the traditions of the country show as well as keeping it relevant. In 2024 we retain our extensive horse program including pony events, led, ridden and breed classes, and introduce a "Scarecrow" competition with a popular choice category. A special feature of the s

how will once again be the displays of stud cattle and sheep, with the junior handling and parading prominent. Also featured are fleece and crop competitions and all varieties of farm & garden produce. The Colonial Clydesdale boys will be back again, so make sure you take the opportunity to experience the wagon ride. The pavilion exhibits include all those traditional country skills of cooking, home preserves, needlecrafts & handiwork as well as our very popular photography and art sections, featuring the Tony Reeckman "Life in a country town" Memorial class. The Rutherglen Show has always catered for the young in the community with junior sections in most categories and all of the local schools support the Show by encouraging student involvement and assistance with set-up. Regular features at the Rutherglen Annual Ag Show include Showgoer and Tiny Tots competitions, Hay Ho Animal Nursery, Pet Parade, Show bag van, vintage machinery & small engine displays, the ever popular Morris of Rutherglen Wood Chop, Tent pe***ng display & dog high jumping competition, community drumming with In The Groove, and calisthenics display by Murray River Calisthenics. There will also be plenty of market stalls and the usual food and drink options available. This is a great local country show with something for everyone.
