It’s been a busy few weeks at the Shed. Ken Stag Dean has built a new honour board for the SES, Ern Walder, Peter Slater and Alan Boyd have been working with the Rutherglen Agricultural Society Inc to build a wall to the sheep enclosure to protect it from the elements. The iron cladding has been recycled from the roof of the Memorial Hall. Great initiative guys at repurposing the old roof. Peter Johns has been busy building a letterbox as well as some boot/Shoe remover aids. They work well and will be on sale at the Rutherglen Agricultural Show on Sunday. Pop into the Shed and have a look at the array of other items for sale.

An important aspect of the Men’s Shed existence is the promotion of Men’s Health. We were most fortunate to recently host a fantastic health program delivered by Amanda Baxter from Yarrawonga Physiotherapy and Pilates. Amanda is very knowledgeable and passionate about Men’s pelvic health and she also delivered sessions over several weeks on risk factors for Men’s health with a focus on the importance of diet and exercise. A number of partners also attended these informative sessions.

Our Shed recently built and installed a new bench seat in collaboration with Rutherglen Rotary Club at the Rotary Deck next to Lake King. Great effort from members Graham Hill, Ted Shanks and Ken Stag Dean. Member Stan Baker was recruited to work under the deck to secure the bolts😀😀

We are seeking some help for our wireless internet in the Shed which was installed last year, but not working consistently.
We had installed an external antenna on the roof and a Teltonika TRB gateway and TP-Link router, but the connection is very unstable. Is there anyone out there willing to help our small community group get back on line? The Shed is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

The Men’s Shed recently had its Christmas lunch at Poachers Paradise Hotel. A large turn out with most members present along with partners ensured a fun time for all. We reflected on our achievements both personal and the many community projects completed.
