On a beautiful autumn Wimmera day in 2011 the Rupanyup community played host to the innaugural Rupanyup Dirt Music Festival. Opening their town, front yards and community spaces to performers and audiences from far and wide. A genuine diversity of stellar performers played to audiences in intimate spaces around the town. Essentially unamplified the typical divide between performer and audience was

nowhere to be seen and a unique atmosphere of mutual respect and generosity was nurtured. The festival was fun, relaxed, engaging and, in line with the stated ideals, free of charge. Building on this success, the 2nd annual Rupanyup Dirt Music Festival will be held on the 31st of March 2012.
