The Hakka Association of Queensland is a non-profit organisation that regularly holds events to encourage its members to interact and collaborate with groups from other cultures and their own. The association hosts artists, musicians and performers from overseas with the aim of promoting goodwill between Australian and other diverse culture groups. ing activities (e.g 2020 bushfire appeal) and also holds events for seniors in the community. Since 2010, the Hakka Association of Queensland has organised an annual 'Multicultural and Dragon Boat Festival', and also organises a Hakka Lunar New Year Festival. Hakka people are a Chinese ethnic group, with their own dialect language, known for their migration; therefore, members of this ethnic group are found and established bases all over Asia centuries ago. This organisation is to reconnect those with this common ancestry, to reconnect with our culture, even though we may be from different countries, who have found our home and raised our families in Queensland, Australia.
