Come visit us at Eastlands.

Not sure of how you combine the Christmas spirit and giving to others?

Have I got an idea for you?

The Giving Machine Hobart is your answer. The Giving Machine charity is a public vending-machine initiative that lets people donate specific items to vetted charities, making giving simple, transparent, and tangible.

The Giving Machine operates similar to an ATM machine and will operate for the whole month of December. There will be six charities who will benefit from purchases.

There are five from Tasmania, Tassie Mums, Foodbank, City Mission, Tasmanian Bikes Collective annd The Salvation Army and one International charity, UNICEF.

You know you want to… please 🙏

📢 We're just over halfway through December, meaning there's still plenty of time to stop in and visit the Giving Machines at Eastlands!

Tasmanian Bike Collective has recently opened Tasmania's first-ever social enterprise bike shop. Every purchase made there supports at-risk young people and helps provide work experience programs in retail & general work skills.

Through the Giving Machine, you can donate bike parts, tools, & mentoring to help a young person build confidence, technical skills, and connect with a positive role model using bike repair as a way to provide community & encourage responsibility, stability and focus. 🚲

The Giving Machine is just one of many ways to help your community this giving season, but it is a good one!

It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s a one-off donation – No commitment, just help however you can.

No matter which option you choose from the machine, you’ll be helping someone in need.

Pop down to the lower level of Eastlands while you’re out Christmas shopping to give the gift of hope this month.

With our official opening earlier this week, we had the opportunity to hear directly about the good work all our charity partners do in our community. The donations you make over this month will be put to good use and will be very appreciated.

Some of the Hobart Giving Machine committee members joined with representatives from each of our charity partners, as well as the mayor of Clarence City Council, Brendan Blomeley, to officially launch the machines.

The machines have been open 2 full days now, and we appreciate all the support so far!

A big shout out to all our charity partners & the hard work they do!
