🕊️ In Loving Memory of Liam Walker

Everyone at Vinnies Kitchen, Rosebud was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Liam Walker.

We would like to acknowledge Liam and sincerely thank him for the time, care and service he gave to Vinnies Kitchen and our Return it Program. His contribution to our organisation and the wider community was greatly valued and will not be forgotten.

People like Liam, who generously give their time to help others, are an important part of what makes our community so special.

To Liam’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved him, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences at this incredibly sad time.

Thank you, Liam, for everything you gave to Vinnies Kitchen and our community. You will be remembered with great appreciation. 🤍

We’d like everyone to know that Vinnies Kitchen Rosebud is here for everyone..

Times can be tough. The cost of living keeps climbing, bills pile up, and sometimes there’s simply not quite enough left for dinner. There’s absolutely no judgement and no need to explain your circumstances.

🍽️ If you or your family could use a meal for dinner that night, please pop down to Vinnies Kitchen between 11:30am and 1:00pm and pick up a meal to take home.

Whether you need us once, occasionally, or you’re simply having a difficult week, you are welcome.

A huge thank you to It’s The Little Things for donating more than 100 ham and cheese sandwiches for us to freeze and turn into delicious toasted sandwiches for our clients at Vinnies Kitchen, Rosebud. 🥪💛

The sandwiches were prepared by MLC in conjunction with It’s The Little Things, and they will certainly be put to good use.

One of our Vinnies regulars, was very grateful to receive one today to take home and toast for herself. It’s these simple acts of kindness that can make such a lovely difference.

💚 The McCrae Lighthouse is shining green. 💚

Over the next few days, the McCrae Lighthouse will be illuminated green as part of Homelessness Week, helping to shine a light on the reality of homelessness and housing insecurity in our community.

For many of us, home is a place of comfort and safety. Sadly, for far too many people, that isn’t the case.

At Vinnies Kitchen, we see firsthand the difference that kindness, compassion and a warm meal can make. Every act of support, no matter how small, helps bring hope to someone doing it tough.

If you see the lighthouse glowing green, take a moment to reflect, start a conversation, and remember those in our community who need our support.

🔪 A Heartfelt Thank You to Owen from Pro-Edge Knife Sharpening! ❤️

The team at Vinnies Kitchen would like to extend our sincere thanks to Owen from Pro-Edge Knife Sharpening for his incredible generosity and community spirit.

Today, Owen kindly donated his time and expertise to sharpen all of our kitchen knives completely free of charge. This not only saves our charity money but also helps our volunteers work more safely and efficiently as we prepare hundreds of meals for people doing it tough in our community.

It’s support from local businesses like Pro-Edge that allows us to continue providing meals, kindness and hope to those who need it most.
