Romsey’s town centre is sparkling brighter than ever, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see this beautiful project come to life.

This lighting installation is just the beginning of the town centre activation planned and outlined in the 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧, formulated back in 2024, to create a more vibrant, welcoming and connected destination for both residents and visitors to the region.

💡🌳 Who’s ready for some magic?

This beautiful Elm tree in Romsey is getting its moment to shine tonight! The final lights are being wrapped today by Simon & his crew from Greenwood Electrical 🙌

The glow is coming, and we cannot wait to see Romsey light up. The lights go on this evening from dusk! ✨

✨🌳 There's some exciting activity in Romsey town centre today! 🌳✨

Simon and his crew from Greenwood Electrical Group are on site with MRSC arborist Phil Shaw, scoping out the LED light installation for the magnificent Elm tree at the fountain 🙌

This stunning feature is well underway — and trust us, it’s going to look absolutely spectacular once complete!

This project is supported & funded by our wonderful Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey.

🎨 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 – 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 $𝟏𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎
🎀 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 – 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 $𝟏,𝟑𝟎𝟎

Both initiatives, inspired by the 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧, will bring even more colour, creativity, and vibrancy to the Romsey town centre!

And that’s not all… more fantastic projects are already underway: -

Exciting times ahead in Riddells Creek!!

Congratulations to the Reimagine Riddell team for their successful Tiny Towns grant. Great opportunity to kick off their Thriving Village’s town centre activation plan 🙌

🌟 We have an exciting announcement! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that Riddells Creek has been awarded a Tiny Towns Grant of $10,800 as part of the latest funding announcement by Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas on Friday 9 May! 🎉

As one of eleven new projects across Macedon funded in Round 2 of the Tiny Towns initiative (for towns under 5,000 people), our grant will support the Town Centre Action Plan Implementation – Station Street Enhancement Stage 1.

💡✨ This means:
– Beautiful fairy lights installed along Station Street, and
– Vegetation renewal and enhancement of Murnong Creek near Station Street.

Some of our Reimagine Riddell volunteers met Mary-Anne at Little Vic's on Friday to celebrate and thank her in person.

It’s all part of our mission to make Riddell’s town centre a more vibrant, green, and welcoming place for everyone.

Congratulations to Bolinda Hall & Reimagine Riddell for their Tiny Towns Funding success 🙌

The Tiny Town Fund is a Victoria State Government initiative that is all about backing projects in small rural/regional towns that locals are passionate about and will help boost tourism and improve community facilities. The Bolinda Hall Committee will be renewing a historical walking track & Reimagine Riddell will be sprucing up Station Street and Murnong Creek as a part of the Riddells Creek Town Centre Action Plan.

EMRBATA is proud to have supported Reimagine Riddell's in their Tiny Towns application as part of the Macedon Ranges Thriving Villages Project.

Looking forward to seeing these projects come to life, one of many that are happening across the Eastern Corridor 🙏

The 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 has been active for just over 12 months now and have been working closely with the MRSC throughout this process. We have lots of exciting initiatives in the pipeline ready to roll out over the next 6 months.

This movement is part of the 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 initiative that is currently being activated in several towns throughout the Macedon Ranges, currently including Romsey, Lancefield, Riddells Creek & Malmsbury. Aiming to improve our town centres as beautiful, thriving and welcoming places for everyone.💚

Funded by a State Government Tiny Towns Grant (successfully sourced by TMR-Tourism Macedon Ranges Inc), Riddells Creek business operators and community members came together at Little Vic’s this week for the “𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙙𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥”.

The evening was a great success with participants identifying “small wins”, “big moves” and “wow factor” initiatives to revitalise the Town Centre. These will be incorporated into an Action Plan to be prepared in coming weeks by placemaking consultancy Village Well (www.villagewell.org).

A big THANK YOU to the Little Vic’s team for its great hospitality and to Macedon Ranges Shire Council for its support.

Romsey and Lancefield conducted their Town Centre Action Plan workshops (also funded by State Government and successfully sourced by EMRBATA) earlier this year, with Action Teams now actively implementing identified projects.

EASTERN MACEDON RANGES towns are the first in the Macedon Ranges to have actively developed Town Centre Action Plans to reinvigorate their town centres with do-able initiatives led by local business and community members.
