Clayton flew to Roma Airport to do his RAAus BFR with Col in his Hornet Cub. Cruise is about 80 kts, but Clayton has been to William Creek and along the Great Ocean Road in this beautiful aircraft.

Shireen commenced her RAAus Flying Training early in 2025 and while her early progress was remarkable, she plateaued as she was only averaging 2 hours training a month. She requested a Pilot Boot Camp of 5 days and in that time frame, she passed 3 Theory Exams and Flew over 16 hours, (4.5 hours of which was solo) passing her Flight Test. Excellent effort, Shireen.

Roma Aero Club Secretary and RAAus CFI Col is away for a month attempting to improve his flying skills in a Robinson 44 Helicopter. Pictured with Utility Helicopters Instructor Shane at Archerfield Airport after achieving his First Helicopter Solo on Thursday, followed subsequently by his Second and Third Solos. Utility do full time PPL H and CPL H Theory Courses and to date, all Instructors and staff have been excellent.

Dusty’s Arion Lightning on arrival and departure at Watts Bridge October 2025 Breakfast. Over 100 aircraft attended and 200 brekkies served. From Roma, Dusty and Sarah in Lightning and Col and Fin in Tecnam attended. (Photos at Watts by MMPI Aviation Photography.) After Watts Bridge brekkie, both aircraft flew to Moreton Island and along the beach, before returning to Roma.

Col & Peter attended and passed full time 10 day Private Pilot Licence Helicopter Theory Course instructed by CFI Nik at Utility Helicopters at Archerfield. Subjects included Aircraft General Knowledge, Aerodynamics, Air Law, Met, Nav, Ops, Human Factors. Both are ready for helicopter flight training now.

Shireen started her flying training in Canada, but life got in the way. She is now doing her RAAus Pilot Certificate in Roma and last Monday did her RAAus First Solo. Congratulations Shireen, well done.
