Tonight, the Roma Hospital Auxiliary welcomed the newest batch of graduate nurses as they start their careers in Western Queensland.

Healing Gardens Project – Roma Hospital

A beautiful new space is taking shape thanks to the dedication of our Hospital Auxiliary Members, the expertise of Stephen Ripphausen from SJR Landscapes, and the leadership of Melitta O'Donohoe, NUM at Roma Hospital.

This collaborative effort is creating a tranquil garden area designed to support healing, reflection, and connection for patients, families, and staff. Stay tuned as the garden continues to grow!

Are you a nurse studying or working in the Maranoa and are looking for financial support?

Maranoa Regional Council are proud to announce the opening of applications for the Maranoa Nursing Advancement Bursary Program 2025.

This initiative is aimed at supporting and retaining skilled nursing professionals in the Maranoa region.

Three bursaries will be provided through this year’s program, all valued at $10,000 each to assist local nurses in advancing their careers through specialisation in midwifery, nurse practitioner, and clinical nurse specialist roles.

Applications open from today, Monday 18 August to 3 October 2025.
