The local fire ban will be lifted this afternoon at 4pm due to the recent and predicted rainfall. The Rollingstone area is yet to receive any so please be mindful when lighting any fires.

Please note that a fire ban is once again in place, beginning 12.01am Friday 21st November , and ending, at this stage, 11:59pm Thursday December 4th. If you have been issued a permit for during this time, it is no longer valid.

The current fire ban for the Townsville area has been lifted. Please use discretion when lighting any fires as everything is still very dry.

Once again, the fire ban in place has been extended. It is now in place until 23.59pm Sunday November 16th.

The current fire ban in the Townsville area, has been extended until 11:59pm Tuesday November 4th.

Please be advised that a total Local Fire Ban has been put into place within the Townsville City Council Area, commencing 00.01am 08.10.25 until 23.59pm 21.10.25. A fire lit for the purpose of cooking, is allowed, but must be with a properly constructed receptacle such as a BBQ; gas or wood, and pizza ovens. The fire must not escape or cause embers to drift, and making sure a garden hose or fire extinguisher is handy.
