🚨 Rockingham-Kwinana SES Update 🚨

Our volunteers are currently responding to a number of requests for assistance across the community as severe weather impacts our area.

While our crews are actively attending jobs, our unit remains open for residents seeking storm preparedness advice or needing to fill sandbags to help protect their properties.

If you're planning to collect sandbags, we kindly ask that you source your own sand and bags from local suppliers such as Bunnings where possible. Our supplies are limited and will be required to support emergency operations and community needs over the next 24 hours.

If your property has suffered storm damage and you require assistance with temporary emergency repairs, please contact the SES on 📞 132 500.

Please remember:
✅ Stay clear of fallen powerlines
✅ Avoid driving through floodwaters
✅ Secure loose outdoor items
✅ Keep up to date with weather warnings

Thank you to our volunteers who are working hard to support the community, and to everyone doing their part to prepare and stay safe.

⛈️ STORM WARNING – DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT ⛈️

We know it's easy to become complacent when storm warnings seem to be everywhere. However, this weather system has the potential to bring damaging to locally destructive winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, dangerous surf and possible road closures, including across the Perth metropolitan area.

Current forecasts indicate the system will begin crossing the coast from Saturday evening, affecting the Perth metropolitan area and the South West, with multiple fronts and periods of severe weather expected to continue through Sunday and into Monday.

⚠️ PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY ⚠️

One of the biggest causes of storm damage is unsecured outdoor items. A trampoline, outdoor chair or loose object can quickly become a dangerous projectile in strong winds.

✅ Tie down or put away trampolines, outdoor furniture and loose items
✅ Clear gutters and downpipes
✅ Check your emergency kit (torch, batteries, radio and first aid kit)
✅ Fuel your vehicle and charge your devices
✅ Secure boats and marine equipment

🏠 Need storm supplies?
Sandbags, tarps and other storm preparation supplies are available from your local Bunnings store.

Strong winds and heavy rain can arrive quickly. Taking a few minutes to prepare now could save you thousands of dollars in damage and help keep your family safe.

🌧️⚡ Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got vehicles to check, equipment to prepare, and a weather radar that's demanding far more attention than it should.

⚠️ TRAMPOLINE OWNERS – THIS ONE'S FOR YOU ⚠️

During major storm events, approximately 1 in 5 SES jobs involve unsecured trampolines.

If it's not properly tied down, it's not tied down.

Take 5 minutes today to secure your trampoline before the wind does it for you.

🌬️🎪 A trampoline in your backyard can quickly become a trampoline in your neighbour's roof.
