Photo courtesy of Wayne Tickner. This is Garratt 1009 on a QR Heritage Volunteers (Rocky) trip. This was part of the celebrations for the anniversary of the opening of the Goonyella coal rail system. The train remained in Rocky for several days and in that time, The Rocky volunteers took the opportunity to run the Garratt and the Rocky based carriages on a series of shuttles to Lakes Creek, Bajool, Parkhurst and Bajool, with a Corporate run on behalf of Mike Scanlan, GGM C&M. Over 1600 people travelled on the local shuttles with a lot of invited guests on the corporate trip. The train is on platform two as at this time, the ICE train would have been occupying number one. This was one of only two steam excursions run by QRHV, Rocky. If you have any pics of our excursions, Please feel free to share them here!
