This morning, CQ Detectorists answered a call for help from Tanya, who had lost a very special earring at a party the night before.
The earring wasn't just any piece of jewellery—it was a beautiful leaf-shaped earring that had been gifted to her for her 60th birthday. Sadly, it disappeared within half an hour of her wearing it, somewhere in a grassy area where the celebrations were held.
Our team headed out and spent around an hour carefully searching the area. After a lot of patience, persistence, and some detector expertise, we finally got a signal that led us to the missing earring hidden amongst the grass and leaves.
The look on Tanya's face when we reunited her with her treasured earring made the search worthwhile.
This is exactly why we do what we do. It's not always about finding old coins and relics—sometimes it's about helping people recover something that means the world to them.
A big thank you to everyone involved in the search, and we're thrilled we could help make Tanya's day a little brighter.

Leesa’s missing keys have been recovered thanks to club member Leeann.

After a bit of investigating, it turns out the real culprit was Leesa’s fluffy white dog, who allegedly stole them from the outdoor table and hid them in the backyard. 🐾😂

Case closed. Keys returned. Dog remains under suspicion.

Good one Leeann for coming to the rescue!

Mel was so relieved when Andrew from the CQ Detectorists located a lost car key in her front yard. Everyone had a crack at trying to visually find it, but it somehow buried itself under the grass away from searching eyes. Andrew picked it up in under 2 minutes on the first pass. Travesty averted!

Remember, if you need something quickly located, get in contact asap and we can help.

Top tip: if you have lost something in a grassed area, do NOT grab the lawnmower thinking the cut grass will help reveal the lost item. It could potentially be damaged or flung somewhere else in the yard making the search more difficult.

Lip Smacking Tucker Truck will be serving up their lip smacking tucker, and the cold beers be flowing!

Winners are grinners at the Lakes Creek Hotel again this evening!!
Nikki won the bottle of tequila on the numbers board, and donated it back so we could run a second round!! How good was that?

Parkhurst Meats did another banging job on the meat trays, with the major one going to Bondie himself!!

Awesome night once again. Huge thank you to everyone who bought a ticket or 2. We really appreciate the support.

The Salty Seaman cooks up some decent fish and chips too! We really recommend you track them down and get some for yourself.

What a week!!!
With all the flood drama happening in Rockhampton this week, the CQ Detectorists are providing an EXTRA meat tray at the Lakes Creek Hotel this Friday evening!!
Our way of giving back means More chances to win!
Come join us from 6pm for the Meat Raffle and the ever popular Numbers Board.

The Salty Seaman will be there cooking up a seafood extravaganza with chips.

Big thanks to Parkhurst Quality Meats for putting these trays together. They are Epic!
