🚨☕🍩 CODE BREW - what an absolute ripper!

Our first Code Brew night was a huge success, with First Responders from across different services dropping in for a late-night cuppa, a donut and some good old-fashioned inter-service banter.

Charlene was mic’d up for the night… which turned out to be a fantastic decision for the video and a questionable decision for anyone brave enough to order a hot chocolate 😜

The best part, was seeing everyone mixing between services, sharing stories, having conversations and enjoying a bit of downtime together.

Big thanks to Banjo's Bakery for keeping the night shift fuelled with free donuts, Nathan from ETNZ Media for capturing it all and Bradey, Charlene, Jesse, Nikki and Sean for coming in to support the night.

The response was so good that Code Brew is now going monthly - keep an eye on our socials for the November date and time 👏

Want to help keep the night shift caffeinated? Businesses interested in sponsoring a Code Brew can reach out to us directly.

See you for the next one!

A great outcome for Australia’s Veteran Community, with the proposed $5,000 annual cap on Veterans’ allied health care taken off the table.

The Blank Cheque Movement exists to stand beside those who have served, to advocate when their voices need to be heard and to help ensure they can access the support they need after service. We were proud to add our voice alongside Veterans, families and ex-service organisations across the country.

This is what happens when many voices stand together. Service deserves support - and no one should have to fight alone for the care they need.

A real win for our Veterans 👏

A reminder that our monthly Saturday catchup will be held in Yeppoon tomorrow as we get behind the Fitstop Yeppoon RUOK Day fundraiser 💛

We’ll be running the BBQ from 10am–2pm out the front of Fitstop Yeppoon, so pop down, grab something from the BBQ and show your support - if you’re feeling energetic, jump in and give us a hand with the fundraiser 🙌

See you tomorrow!

Blank Cheque Trading Co. is still open if you’re in Rocky and want to pop in for a coffee ☕️ - just remember, we’ll be in Yeppoon, not at the café!

Shoutout to all the Paramedics and Comms Staff for doing a stellar job job after today’s system upgrade failure - your communities appreciate you 🙏❤️

Not all heroes wear capes.

Across Queensland today, Paramedics, Patient Transport Officers, Call Takers and Emergency Medical Dispatchers have literally kept the Ambulance system moving.

When the Computer Aided Dispatch system failed during the attempted transition to a new system, the technology may have struggled / but the people didn't.

More than 3,000 calls for ambulance assistance come through each day. Behind every one is a person who needs help.

Today, when the pressure was on, people stepped up.

Phones were answered. Calls were triaged. Resources were coordinated. Patients were transported. Crews kept responding.

Technology can fail. Systems can fail. But the people who stand behind them can make all the difference. To everyone who worked through today’s challenges we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.
