NSW SES Volunteers Association The NSW State Emergency Service Volunteers Association supports the volunteers of the NSW SES Most income is from raffles, with tickets sold by a call centre.

The NSW State Emergency Services Volunteers Association was established in 1998. It aims to give NSW SES volunteers the voice, resources, training and support to provide for the betterment of the individual volunteer, the NSW SES, and the communities served. Funds raised by the NSW SES VA are used to provide state emergency service volunteers with scholarships, grants, a support fund and a welfare

Weโ€™ve just completed a massive 7 year milestone project โ€” Australiaโ€™s first Wellness Retreat and Training Centre for all NSW SES members. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿก๐Ÿšจ Weโ€™re proud to have invested, literally, in 100 acres of Australia, bricks and mortar for all NSW SES members โ€” a real place of support, connection, training and wellbeing. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿšœ Through the SESVA Drought Support Program, the SESVA has proudly supported NSW SES members impacted by drought for over 10 years. This program provides practical assistance such as hay, fodder, pellets and dog food to affected members, helping those in regional, rural and remote areas continue to care for their families, animals and properties while still preparing for and responding to emergencies in their communities. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฑ During challenging times, this support is also about wellbeing, connection and reminding our members that they are not alone. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿคฒ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

A very special congratulations to Kevin Jones ESM, NSW SES Hawkesbury Unit Commander, on being awarded the Emergency Services Medal. ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ๐Ÿงก

Kevinโ€™s recognition reflects an extraordinary lifetime of service to the NSW SES and the Hawkesbury community. Kevin has served for more than 52 years and has served in many leadership roles including Local Commander and Unit Commander. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿงก

Kevin has attended thousands of rescue operations, including flood rescues, road crash rescues, industrial and domestic rescues, large animal rescues and vertical rescue incidents. ๐Ÿšค๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿด๐Ÿง—โ€โ™‚๏ธ

He was also instrumental in establishing the Hawkesbury SES Rescue Unit in 1985, helping build one of the stateโ€™s most advanced volunteer rescue units. His service, courage, mentoring and leadership have strengthened not only the Hawkesbury Unit, but the broader NSW SES rescue capability across the state. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿงก
