In our new blog post we explain how dementia affects more than 446,000 people in Australia and what is being done to combat it.
Research shows that almost half of dementia cases could be prevented or delayed by addressing key risk factors. From protecting your head, to staying active, and managing health conditions, these small steps can make a meaningful difference long term.💪
There’s also promising progress in early detection, with a new blood test for Alzheimer’s disease entering clinical trials in Australia. This test can detect a protein which is a biomarker of amyloid plaque in the brain. Detecting the protein early on can help determine if someone might develop Alzheimer's symptoms in the future.
