It is easy to let the fear of what might go wrong hold us back from what could go right. At Robina Toastmasters, we believe that the best way to conquer doubt is through action and practice.

Every time you step onto the stage, you aren't just giving a speech, you are proving to yourself that you are capable of more than your doubts suggested. Come join our supportive community this week and turn your "what-ifs" into "I did it!"

This Wednesday the 10th our Toastmaster is Mihoko Harrison, with the theme “Surname.”

“A name is so important. A surname connects you to your past, to your family. Even a given name has meaning – why did your parents pick that particular one?” — Kelley Armstrong

Our names carry stories, histories, and connections. Join us as we explore the significance of surnames, family heritage, and the identities that shape who we are.

There will also be a special segment at the end of the meeting for the election of the Committee for 2026/27.

This Wednesday the 27th of May, our Toastmaster is Stephanie Bellanto, with the theme “Anthropology.”

We’ll hear 3 prepared speeches, with evaluations, and have a table topics segment!

The theme for our meeting last week was “Mondegreens”, with Jane Buckley as our Toastmaster for the evening.

We enjoyed an excellet icebreaker from Andrew Berry and entertaining speeches from Ella Staub and Mihoko Harrison. Our speakers were supported by thoughtful evaluations from Jeffery Thomas, Stephanie Bellanto, and Mark Mourell.

The theme for our meeting Wednesday the 29th was “Shakespeare”, with Mark Mourell as our Toastmaster of the evening.

We enjoyed engaging speeches from Ichiro Tsutsumida (a guest from Japan!), Lou Cervetto, Steven Sedgman, and Michael Beecroft, supported by thoughtful evaluations from Ryan Rigby, Zeb Brown, Jane Buckley, and Keith Howden. On the night we also had Peter Haigh leading Table Topics and taking on the Hot Seat.

The theme for our meeting last week was “AI”, with Ryan Rigby as our Toastmaster of the evening.

We enjoyed engaging speeches from Alan Oberstein, Mark Mourell, and Mihoko Harrison, supported by thoughtful evaluations from Stephanie Bellanto, Michael Beecroft, and Lou Cervetto, along with Mary-Jean Brill evaluating Table Topics. On the night we also had Ella Staub leading Table Topics and a very special segment...

We celebrated our very own Mary-Jean's 30th Anniversary at Toastmasters! Congratulations Mary-Jean!
