BRAND NEW DATABASE – Shipping Departures from South Australia, 131,000+ new records!

We are thrilled to announce we have launched a brand new addition to our online databases, indexing Shipping Departures from South Australia between 1836 and 1940.

The dataset contains records on passengers and ships departing Adelaide/South Australia, which will complement the Shipping Arrivals dataset. This dataset is invaluable in tracing the movements of ancestors whose trail in South Australia may have gone cold – and validating ancestor arrivals in other states.

There are varying degrees of coverage during this date range, as detailed in the online Database Information Sheet. The Information Sheet also includes details about sources and other helpful information.

Thanks as always to our volunteers for transcribing and collating the data for these records, with special mention of individual collection efforts by Reg Butler.
