For many women escaping domestic and family violence, when they arrive at Biyani House they are carrying the weight of an uncertain past. A safe place to stay can be life changing, providing not only immediate protection, but the opportunity to begin building a brighter future.

This National Reconciliation Week, Biyani House recognises the importance of learning from our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and taking meaningful action towards reconciliation.

The 2026 theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines. It asks all of us to listen, learn, reflect and act.

At Biyani House, our work is grounded in safety, dignity and respect. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Reconciliation takes all of us.
We’re all in.

Too many women are trying to escape abuse, only to find there is nowhere safe to go. At Biyani House we know that safe beds that save lives.

We know women need more than just a shelter in their moment of crisis. They need support. They need care. They need dignity. For women and children escaping abuse, safety can't wait another night.

For every women we can help, three more still need a safe bed. You can help change that.

Will you help us keep more women safe?

🎨It may be autumn, but Biyani House is feeling those summer beach vibes 🌊

Our residents enjoyed a beautiful art session recently as part of our Wellbeing Program, turning blank canvases into beach-inspired masterpieces while learning new painting techniques and creating sandy textures.

A big thank you toRevesby Workers' Club for helping make our wellbeing program possible, and to Vanessa from Paint, Create & Congregate for leading such a fun and meaningful session.

Creative moments like these help bring calm, confidence, and connection for the women we are fortunate enough to have residing with us 💜

People often think leaving is the hardest part.

The truth is, beginning again can be just as challenging.

After leaving violence, women may still face housing stress, financial pressure, trauma and uncertainty about what comes next.

That is why Biyani House exists.

Leaving takes courage. Beginning again takes you.
