Rainbow Social Group - RNH The Rainbow Social Group (RSG) is a program of Reservoir Neighbourhood House. We are a volunteer, peer-led group for LGBTQIA+ people (18+).

The RSG meets in the northern suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne, unceded Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country.

Unfortunately we have to cancel the gathering on Saturday 13 June due to the facilitator being unwell. We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

We really hope to see you at the following gathering on Saturday 27 June, which will be the final one for this term/quarter. It'll be a chill out space with different areas where you can craft, chat, play pool, while we are screening Rafiki (2018). This will be at the wonderful Pony Club Gym in Preston, which is as much a community space as it is a gym! Please check the event out on Eventbrite for more information and to register - in our bio.

We already have some plans for term/quarter 3, but as always we would love to hear the kinds of activities and gatherings you'd be keen on attending. Any and all ideas are so welcome.

We're so excited to hold a movie screening and chill out space at Pony Club Gym in Preston. We'll be watching Rafiki (2018), playing pool, doing craft, and just hanging out.

Word games with the RNH Rainbow Social Group! Eventbrite link in bio ✏️🔡

Join us for a chill time playing word games like Scattergories, Bananagrams and Articulate - or feel free to bring your own! You're also welcome to hang out and have a cuppa if you don't feel like participating in the games. It's an opportunity for all LGBTQIA+ people aged 18+ to connect and share space in the community.

When: Saturday 6 June, 11am-1pm

We had a great time at the nature-themed crafternoon! So much so that we forgot to take many photos (oops)! Thanks to those that came, it was lovely to see some new faces. We also loved that some people brought their own crafts - you're always welcome to bring whatever you're sketching/knitting/bedazzling to any of our gatherings 🧶✏️

Our next gathering is in a little under 2 weeks: word games at the neighbourhood house! Think Scattergories, Articulate, Bananagrams. Join Rainbow Social Group for a nature-themed crafternoon 🌿 Eventbrite link in page info for all RSG events!

We will be doing unstructured crafts with plenty of nature/garden themed collage materials and lots of other craft supplies available. Please feel free to bring your own supplies if you like!

💫This Saturday! 💫Welcome to the first gathering of the Rainbow Social Group for 2026! You're invited to a picnic in the park 🌳

All LGBTQIA+ people aged 18+ are welcome. Bring a snack to share or just yourself!

When: Saturday 31st January, 1-3pm
Where: TW Andrews Reserve, Reservoir 3073

Meet us at the wooden undercover area and we will find a nice place to sit.

Toilets
The House has three separate toilet areas:
- One with two urinals and two toilets
- One with three toilets and menstrual product disposals
- One wheelchair accessible with a shower and one toilet

Physical Considerations
- Wheelchair accessible entrance, no internal or external steps
- Much of the furniture can be rearranged to ensure space for mobility and accessibility aids
- Wearing a mask is encouraged but not mandatory
- Our meeting room utilises an air purifier

Sensory Considerations
- Bright artificial and natural lighting in the main area
- Lighting in our meeting room can be adjusted somewhat
- No strong fragrances
- Quiet with not many people, as the House is not open to the public on Saturdays

Other Considerations
- Support people are welcome
- Gatherings are facilitated in English, interpreters are welcome
- Using fidget/sensory items is encouraged
- You are welcome to join and leave at any time
- Attending the group can look different for everyone, there is no pressure to contribute in a particular way
- The only expectation is respect and care for yourself and other attendees

Public Transport
- Approx. 17 minute walk from Reservoir Station
- Approx. 15 minute walk from the Boldrewood Parade/Plenty Road stop of the 86 tram
- Approx. 3 minute walk from the Boldrewood Parade/Broadway stop of the 552, 556, 561 bus routes
- Approx. 6 minute walk from the Arch Gibson Reserve/Boldrewood Parade stop of the 566 bus route

Cycling and Car Transport
- Bike racks available at the House and Reservoir Leisure Centre (next door to the House)
- 5 minute parking / drop off available directly outside of the House
- All day parking available on Cuthbert Street and Strathmerton Street
- All day parking lot at Reservoir Leisure Centre

Hi! Welcome to the Rainbow Social Group, a volunteer, peer-led gathering for LGBTQIA+ people (18+) in the northern suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne 🌈

This group is an initiative of the Reservoir Neighbourhood House. It seeks to connect LGBTQIA+ adults within the local community, with opportunities to meet and share experiences with peers in community settings 💫

We meet every second and fourth Saturday, typically at 1-3pm, at the Neighbourhood House and other local spaces. Feel free to join for a particular event that interests you or come to all our meetings 🌱

This quarter, our planned events are:

Saturday 14 February, 1-3pm
Board games at Reservoir Neighbourhood House

Saturday 28 February, 1-3pm
