Caught in 4K: mysterious footprints after the rain.

Our ecologist Hannah spotted these possum paw prints at Calperum Station.
Proof that even when you don't see the wildlife, they're still leaving clues behind.

Meet one of Calperum's most impressive locals ๐Ÿ‘€

The Malleefowl doesn't incubate its eggs like most birds.
It builds a giant mound and lets nature do the work.

Talk about working smarter, not harder.

Over the past few weeks, Calperum Station was proud to host three SA Water Overnight Immersion groups including Representatives, Schools, and Rotary visitors.

Led by our Education Officer Amelia, with support from our ranger team, participants explored the connection between culture, ecology, and landscape through a range of hands-on experiences.

Groups enjoyed driving tours through Merriti and Woolpolool, the Culture Meets Ecology Tour ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ with fresh damper, salinity testing activities๐Ÿงช, spot lighting adventures, and evenings around the firepit under the stars ๐ŸŒ .

Programs like these create meaningful opportunities for learning, connection, and community engagement.

Thank you to SA Water ๐Ÿ’™and everyone involved for helping make these experiences possible.

National Reconciliation Week - Reconciliation Australia is a time to reflect, learn, and strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.

At Calperum Station, we recognise the deep connection First Nations peoples have with Country and the importance of listening, learning, and walking together with respect.

As a place where culture meets ecology, we are proud to work alongside Indigenous rangers and staff whose knowledge and care help protect this landscape for future generations.

Together, we continue the journey toward understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of long-time volunteer Max Burr.

Max dedicated many years to supporting Calperum Station, generously giving his time, knowledge, and care to this special place and its community.

His dedication, kindness, and willingness to help wherever needed left a lasting impact on both the station and the many people who had the privilege of working alongside him.

We are deeply grateful for everything Max contributed over the years. His efforts and presence will be greatly missed, and his legacy will remain part of Calperum Station for years to come.

Our sincere condolences go to Maxโ€™s family, friends, and all who knew him.
