Congratulations to Rotary 9510 who are once again providing this unique opportunity for yr 9/10 students. Dedicated to supporting youth and our precious environment … making a real difference to young lives and their landscape.

Our Health Of The River Youth Forum is fast approaching over the 14-18 September, up at Calperum Station. We are looking forward to a challenging, thoughtful week where our year 9/10 cohort are immersed in science, ecology and the Riverland environment. For all of you who are coming along, see you there.

Calperum Ranger Richard, is a very keen fisherman … we thought it would be fun to share one of his recent catches with you.

“Sunday, I figured I’d go fishing and drove to Overland Corner before dark, arrived at 4.50pm. I walked along the cliff side and arrived at an amazing-looking big Red Gum and threw my line in right in front of the tree. I waited for 5 minutes and the Murray Cod bit the hook on my bait and I caught it! “

What blackout??? With half of Renmark out of power today, we were able to keep working away, very grateful to have new solar and battery power here at Calperum Station.

Many thanks to our supporters and a big high five to the team from YES Energy for delivering this part of our Infrastructure Upgrades Project. Happy days 🙌

Supporting rural women through connection, wellbeing, and time to recharge.

The Beyond the Dry – Rural Women's Retreat brought together women from drought-affected farming communities, creating a welcoming space to pause, connect with others, and focus on well-being in the natural surroundings of Calperum Station.

Participants enjoyed a guided walking tour of Calperum and a coffee outing with Hon Nicola Centofanti and Hayley May from Rural Business Support

Wellbeing sessions included:
• Barbie Daly, Certified Pranic Psychotherapist & Crystal Healing
• Michelle Webb from Michelle Webb Naturopathy – Introduction to Naturopathy & Psych-K
• Cathy Schier – Nature Therapy
• Jade Hand from Body and Bloom Wellness – Massage & Body Care
• Mary (Nail Technician) – Self-Care & Beauty

A special highlight was Briony's volunteer-run ‘nearly new clothing boutique’, where every donated item found a new home at no cost to participants—an incredibly generous contribution that added something truly special to the retreat.

Thank you to our presenters, volunteers, guest speakers, and everyone who took part. Together, you helped create a supportive and uplifting experience for rural women when it was needed most.

This Connecting Communities event was proudly supported by the South Australian Government through the Drought Support Package created for women in drought-affected communities.

Two days of hands-on conservation, learning, and collaboration at Calperum Station

Our annual SARDI Indigenous Ecology in Action (EiA) program brought participants together for two days of hands-on environmental learning at Calperum Station.

From fish monitoring using fyke nets and vegetation surveys to weaving with Andrea Giles and Vanessa Cook, participants experienced a diverse range of activities while learning about conservation in the field.

A sincere thank you to the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA), SARDI, and everyone involved in making this year's program such a rewarding experience.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Calperum next year.
