We are sad beyond measure that our dear friend and longstanding member of our Club, Jan Fuller, has passed away. Jan's support, encouragement, mentorship, and care for our Club and all our members has left a lasting impact. Jan has been a very active member of our Club since she joined in 2008, having been our Club President 3 times; Secretary 6 times; Treasurer 4 times; as well as terms as Vice-President of Membership, Vice-President of Education, and Vice-President of Public Relations. Jan has touched many lives and we will miss her greatly.

Last week, we received the very sad news that Jan Fuller, one of our school founders, passed away.

In the mid-1970s, Jan and others dreamt of starting a Christian school. They had no particular expertise in starting or funding a school from scratch, but they pressed ahead in faith.
They researched, offering their homes as bank guarantees with the aim of building a Christian primary school for approximately 200 students.

The same group of people were involved with establishing Emmanuel College as a Christian high school. The first minutes for Emmanuel College were taken in Jan's loungeroom.
Those early years were marked by significant sacrifice, hard work and stretching of faith.

Jan filled many roles over the years, from classroom teacher and Board member as well as sewing the first school uniforms. Jan continued to be involved with King's Church and King's Christian College. Last week, Jan presented an award at the King's Pimpama Primary School presentation night.

Jan's legacy continues through the thriving modern Christian schools that King's and Emmanuel have become, as well as the thousands of lives that have been impacted, both now and for eternity.

What a great meeting last night at King’s Toastmasters! We welcomed a new member, heard some fantastic speeches, and all participated in a meeting that taught us all to be adaptable, and to grow.

We’re very excited for our next meeting on the 10th of November!

Another amazing Toastmasters meeting to cherish! ✨ Will was called up as Toastmaster last minute, and showed how to be confident in last minute circumstances. We had 3 speeches, including a toast from Norman, a product development plan from Chris, and a speech from Jonty about burried treasure! We also warmed ourselves up with conversation about the summer with Tabletopics from Linda!

We're looking forward to seeing you again soon at our next meeting on the 23rd of June!

What an indelible meeting last night with THREE memorable speeches, plus our usual impromptu Table Topics, the election of our new committee and more! ✨

We're very excited for our next meeting which on the 9th of June - so if you want to grow in your leadership and public speaking ability, why not give Toastmasters a go?

How did we do so much in our 2 hour meeting? 😳 We had speeches from Gloria, Norman, and Will. We also took a trip to space in our impromtu Round Robin, and put ourselves in difficult situations with Table Topics.

We're very much looking forward to growing our leadership skills and public speaking ability in our next meeting on the 26th of May at 7PM!

Our last meeting was quite special wasn’t it? We officially welcomed our newest member, Gloria, as well as had a visit from our Area Director, Sarah Boynton. Jan was our Toastmaster, and she brought a theme that was close to her heart - ANZAC Day.

We’re very excited for our next meeting this Monday Night, where we will grow our leadership and our public speaking skills!

Wasn’t last week’s meeting great?! We had a joke session, a soap box, a speech from Will, and all the usual fun.

We’re looking forward to seeing you 7PM next Monday at the King’s Table Cafe for another amazing night growing our public speaking skills and leadership ability ✨

After an extended hiatus due to Cyclone Alfred, we were emboldened to come back to the King’s Table Cafe on Monday and carry on as usual!

Our Toastmaster, Will, shared his favourite quotes from philosopher, Garfield, while Norman and Kiki presented speeches. We all had a go at Table Topics, and tried to use our word of the night from Gloria.

We look forward to meeting again 3 weeks from now on the 14th of April!

Last week Gloria was our Wordmaster and challenged us to use the word “Embolden” more in our everyday lives. I hope you feel emboldened to use the word “embolden” or maybe even feel emboldened to join us at our next meeting in 2 weeks time on the 14th of April!

The last week has just flown by! Our second week of Toastmasters was a WINNING MOMENT, which just so happened to be our theme for the night.

We’re so excited to see you all again next Monday night (March 10th)!

What an exciting night last Monday night at Toastmasters with Norman bringing the theme “YOU ARE WELCOME”! ✨

We had Kiki receive her member’s badge as well as give a speech on her Bucket List. We also had a focus on impromptu speaking, with Tabletopics, a round robin, and Jan giving a 5 minute impromptu speech. 🎤

We look forward to seeing you this Monday night for another engaging evening of public speaking! 🔥
