Speewah to The Hat - Walk for a Cause - Annual Event ITS ON AGAIN IN 2025!

We walk from Speewah Camp Ground through the Rainforest on the "World Famous Douglas Track" down the Mountain to Stoney Creek and then onto the legendary Red Beret Hotel all in the name of Charity and a Good Time for all involved 💪

Speewah to The Hat - Walk for a Cause - Annual Event is Run and Done for another year and was the most successful yet!

We raised $6405 😳 for our very worthy recipients 💪

$3405 went to a very deserving Mother of a young Baby Girl who is battling a severe bout of cancer (won't go into full details here) and is commuting to Cairns daily for chemotherapy!

$1500 went to the Speewah District Residents Association towards the new mural being painted on the water tank to celebrate and promote the volunteers at The Speewah Rural Fire Brigade.

$1500 also went to Mareeba Animal Refuge who are also all volunteer based and solely rely on fund raising to do what they do so also very deserving!

That has put us at well over $30,000 raised in the last 6 years so cheers to everyone involved!!

Thanks to All the Sponsors and also to all the Walkers (Just under 60 of Us) who made the trek down the Mountain to the Red Beret Hotel for the 12th year of this event 💪

Sooo this will be the last post for the year I think...

Come join Speewah to The Hat - Walk for a Cause - Annual Event this Saturday with your Friends and Family on the Deck at The Red Beret for lunch with your chance to win in over $3500 in prizes (with a couple late donations added too).

We have over 60 entrants participating this year so come on down and cheer us on as we roll on down the hill! We usually start rolling in from about 11.30 onwards
