The Walkley Foundation, in partnership with McKinnon, has successfully delivered From Bottom Line to Headlines: Public Finance for Journalists in Canberra.
This one-day intensive workshop brought together 16 journalists from across Australia to strengthen reporting on budgets, policy and public spending. Through expert-led sessions, participants learned practical skills in understanding how budgets are developed, how fiscal decisions are made, and how to translate complex financial information into clear, accessible public interest journalism.
Programs like this are essential to supporting informed reporting and equipping journalists with the tools to better serve their audiences.
Thank you to all participants and speakers who made the day a success.
