Feel Good Friday 💙

A huge thank you to District Governor Lions District 201 Q3 Stuart Matthews, Lion Barbara Matthews, Gemma Hillier from Share the Dignity , and the dedicated members of the Lions Club of Pine Rivers for their generous donation of Care Packs.

These Care Packs have now been distributed across all three of our Neighbourhood Centres: Encircle Kallangur Neighbourhood Centre , Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre and Encircle Redcliffe Neighbourhood Centre helping to support community members who may be doing it tough.

This wonderful partnership grew from the recent District 201Q3 Convention, where participants came together through hands-on workshops to create practical support for those in need.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and commitment to community wellbeing. Together, we continue to Roar for Wellbeing - not just in October, but throughout the year. 🦁💙

During the recent Census, Encircle supported the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) to help those who are homeless be counted by completing the census. ABS representatives were based in the neighbourhood centres and went on outreach with our HOAP team to ensure those who wished to participate got the opportunity.

Recently we received this wonderful feedback and appreciation from the Moreton Bay Local Engagement Officer for the ABS, following our involvement in the 2026 Census outreach work:

"I wanted to take the time to properly thank you for welcoming and allowing us to work alongside you throughout the 2026 Census.

The partnership between local organisations, charities, and community groups contributed greatly to the success of our work. The collaboration and sharing of knowledge enabled us to reach a much higher number of people sleeping rough across the Moreton Bay region than we had initially anticipated.

For our team, this was about more than simply completing the Census. It was about ensuring that people who can sometimes feel unseen or unheard had the opportunity to be counted and have their circumstances recognised.

The trust you have established within the community meant that people were more willing to engage with us, have conversations with our team, and, ultimately, participate in the Census. That trust can not be created overnight, and we genuinely recognise and appreciate the years of work, compassion, and commitment that have gone into building those relationships.

It was a privilege to work alongside you. Your support made a genuine difference in helping us reach people who may otherwise have been missed."

A recent Games Group at our Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre brought people together for a morning filled with laughter, friendship, and community spirit. 💙

We were delighted to welcome visitors from India, who joined in the fun, learned how to play Uno, and quickly became part of the warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes these gatherings so special. In a thoughtful gesture, they also donated a packet of Tim Tams to our community pantry to help support others in need.

The morning made such an impression that they purchased their own Uno game to take back to India to enjoy with their grandchildren, family, and friends.

It's a beautiful reminder that the connections made at our neighbourhood centres can create lasting memories and reach far beyond our local community. 🌏✨
