Well today can bite me. We called the RSPCA for follow ups on both "Delightful" Derek & Nancy to be told Nancy's condition was too deteriorated and she was humanely euthanased. We then were informed that although Derek was responding to the treatment & gaining weight, sadly due to the laceration he was unable to close his left eye. They are giving him another 48hrs but have warned us that if it's no better, he too may need to humanely euthanased. Definitely was not expecting that. From how Nancy presented it was obvious that she had been on her own for a few days, that she tried eating dirt when her mother she 100% relied on for food & warmth wasn't there anymore. I am glad we got to bond last night so she knew she was loved and warm. I'm just devastated that sadly we found her too late to save her. Wish you were here đź’”

Little Nancy was taken to the RSPCA this morning for a vet assessment just because of how much dirt Glen cleaned out of her mouth and eyes, the poor little darling. Waiting on updates for her and Derek now. 🤞

We've had 2 new intakes today. Bob is with us for rehabilitation after being rescued from a drainage pipe in Brassall after being stuck for 2 days- treated by RSPCA for dehydration & hypothermia and tonight he is sleeping comfortably in one of our new 1/2 aviaries đź’–
Tonight we received a call from Barellan Point after their dog located an orphaned Brushtail Possum Satin Joey in their backyard. Poor Nancy was covered in mud, especially her eyes and mouth and after a good flush, bath and warming up enjoyed her first feed. Now she's snuggled up bonding with her new substitute Mumma đź’–

~Author- Alice Miller~

Rescue Fatigue is REAL. Regardless what you chose to rescue, the sadness, exhaustion, family/friends withdrawal, depression, lack of personal and mental care is THERE all under a permanent smile so we don’t have to talk about it. Rescuing is a selfless act, most don’t even think twice how the effects destroy your faith in humanity, break you down emotionally, and pull you further away from yourself. Daily we put ourselves aside to help the voiceless from the negative impacts of human intervention. There are happy days, the pure joy of saving a life and making a difference, where they wouldn’t have a chance without you, But, what people don’t see are the tears, the pure mental breakdown because you’ve just tried so hard and you feel like you’ve failed. The more you put into it, the more that seem to just keep coming in, same stories…
It does not matter the reason why we get the animal, the care we give is the same, 1000% of our hearts are in this, and they are crushed often. Most of us stuck in our homes, feeding on crazy schedules that would put most paying jobs to shame, FOR FREE. Why do we do it!? BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT… We are the reason most are displaced , we build houses destroying their homes, then people scream “pests”. We live in THEIR backyard.
Check on your rehabbers, your rescuers. We’re not okay, We’re struggling to survive caring for the ones without a voice. We love with our entire heart, and care with all of our soul. Putting our own lives on the back burner. Show love, show appreciation.
🖤I see you…🖤 I appreciate your hard work.🖤

Last night Glen picked up our newest addition- "Delightful" Derek from an emergency vet. Sadly we think there may be head trauma so I have taken him to the RSPCA for another assessment. Sending all positive & healing vibes to this little boy as he really needs it right now đź’™

We have 3 products available at EcoCentric Sisters Ipswich .
First up is a "Gratitude Jar" which comes with a Baby's Breath Seed Pencil, Recycled Paper Notebook and a Randomly selected 2cm Crystal Heart & Mushroom for $20.
Second is an "Inhale/Exhale Jar"- breathe in the good sh$t, exhale the bullsh$t. If you are an overthinker like me, write that sh$t down and through the process let go of what no longer serves you. This Jar comes with a Positivity Pen, Recycled Paper Notepad, 2cm Black Obsidian & Rose Quartz Crystal Hearts.
Third is our F #$k it Bucket. This one compliments the Gratitude Jar. Anytime anything bad happens write it down and put it in the bucket. On New Years Eve bury the contents of the bucket under your carved Crystal Tombstone to signify what you will not be taking through into the New Year with you. Then read all your positive notes from your Gratitude Jar. This bucket comes with a Sweary Pen and post-it set, a Recycled Paper Notepad and a Carved Crystal Tombstone for $35.
