Happy Volunteer Week 🥳
We couldn’t agree more with Chief Commissioner Victoria - Daniella Taglieri OAM and the young people in the video — volunteering truly is what makes Scouts so special.
At Red Hill Scouts, everything we do is powered by volunteers. From our incredible Leaders — Wendy, Kelsey, Paul, Steve, Nigel, Gareth and Adam — to our behind-the-scenes legends Emma, Paddy, Annie, Andrew, Bill, Nicole, Alanna and Nicole, and all the parents who give their time at the market and on section nights… it really is a whole community effort.
Every hour you give, every cold, wet, and windy Red Hill evening and early morning market shift you show up for, and every bit of support you offer makes a real difference to our young people.
Thank you for your time, your energy, and your commitment — we simply couldn’t do it without you.

Scouts Construction Challenge
Each patrol took on the challenge of building their own base using old crates barrels and ropes before the battle could begin. Once their bases were complete, the Scouts put their teamwork and strategy to the test in an action-packed Nerf battle.

Welcome to Taylor and Henry, our newly invested Scouts.
We’re excited to have Taylor join the group and hope he enjoys discovering everything Scouting has to offer. Henry has recently moved up from the Cub section, and we’re thrilled to see him continue his journey with us.

Tomorrow, we'll be honored to participate in the Red Hill Community Association’s ANZAC Day 2026 commemorative service, a meaningful tribute to those who have served.
Our Cubs and Scouts have been actively preparing for the event, baking ANZAC biscuits to share with the community and preparing to attend the flag and lay a wreath during the service. All are welcome to attend.

Tom was a Cub and Scout at Red Hill and we are so proud to follow his journey and see how he has grown into such an amazing young man. 🏃🏼🥇

We were very lucky tonight to have Thomas McGough as guest speaker at our Lions meeting.

Thomas is a Peninsula based 15-year-old para sprinter currently ranked second in the world in his classification (T38) for the 100 metres and he is seeking sponsors to continue working toward representing Australia at the highest levels of athletics.

Thomas’ story in his words:
Over the past three years, I’ve put everything into my sport. Through consistent training and competition, I’ve become a multiple national champion and multiple Australian records including T38 100m T38 200m in para track and field. I’m registered with both the International Paralympic Committee and World Para Athletics, and I’m proud to compete as part of Australia’s para-athletics community.

Sponsor support would be an incredible help and make a huge difference in supporting me to continue to compete, improve and develop as an athlete. In return, I would be proud to represent and promote you and your business both on and off the track through social media recognition, media opportunities, and community events. I also hope my journey can help inspire other young athletes with disabilities to believe in what’s possible.

Very Early 🫩Saturday morning 6 Scouts and 3 Adult Supporters from Red Hill bordered a flight ✈️ to Perth WA to take part in weeklong OneCamp 🏕️ OneCamp brings together everyone from Joey Scouts to Rover Scouts to participate in adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive activities linked to Milestones, Outdoor Adventure Skills and Special Interest Areas.
They finished off their very long day in Swan Valley WA with a dance party 🪩 We hope you all have an amazing time and we can't wait to hear all about your adventures.
