1st Red Hill Scout Group

1st Red Hill Scout Group Scouts provides fun and engaging (and educational!) programs. Currently Red Hill runs the following sessions term time only.

Cubs for Children 8yrs -10yrs old Wednesdays 7pm-8.30pm
Scouts for Children 11yrs-14yrs old Thursdays 7pm-9pm Scouting is a voluntary non-political educational movement for young people. We are open to all, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexuality. The aim of Scouting is to encourage the social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of young people so they may play a constructive role in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities. This aim is achieved through a strong and active program that inspires young people to do their best and to always be prepared. We are found worldwide in 161 countries, with distinct age levels and programs that have shaped the development of youth and adults for over 100 years. Scouts are in every part of our community, and are one of the largest youth organisations in Australia. More than 20,000 boys, girls, and adults in Victoria from wide cultural and religious backgrounds, including those with intellectual or physical disabilities, enjoy an unlimited range of activities in the bush, the sea, the rivers, the mountains, the towns and cities.

Well the kids made it all the way to Mildura. Stopped to see The Murray & the NSW border again. A few games at 2nd Mildura Scout hall and then navigated themselves back to Southern Cross station via a bus and train. Well done kids!
A fun trip and a reminder that car travel is not the only way to get around Victoria. Turns out the kids actually hiked about 20km over course of the three days too getting between stations, scout halls and seeing the sites.
Thanks to 2nd Mildura for hosting us, we are happy to return the favour anytime 😃

There is an Adventurous Journey underway. 🎉 Four 1st Red Hill Scouts and one scout from 1st Sunbury have so far traveled up to Swan Hill by train, had a splash in The Murray River, crossed the river into NSW and hiked to the Swan Hill Scout Hall to sleep the night. Off to Mildura next. 😃 Thank you so much to 1st Swan Hill for hosting us.

Thank you to Mornington Peninsula Shire for supporting our Scout Hall through the Flexi Grant Program.
This funding helped us clean our water tank and install a new mop station, creating a safer, healthier space for our Scouts, volunteers, and the wider community who use our hall for meetings, events, and activities.

Today we celebrate the dads, step-dads, grandads, and father figures who camp in the rain, tie knots on demand, pack up wet tents, or help serve up our famous scones at the market!
