PRESS RELEASE
“2024 ROYAL LAUNCESTON SHOW HOPES SUSPENDED”
Following two years of unsustainable financial losses the Royal National and Agricultural Pastoral Society have determined that the 151st Royal Launceston Show will not be run during the 2024 Tasmanian show season.
This decision has not been made easily, given the great history of the society and the RNAPS Board of Directors has concluded that it is in the societies best interest to reassess the current business format of its flagship event, the Royal Launceston Show. This will include a total restructure of the existing organization for it to become a more current and relevant event showing the best of Tasmanian agricultural livestock and produce.
Community consultation will be sought in the coming months to go towards the development of strategies to reinvent and reestablish the Royal Launceston Show.
Our Society wishes to thank all those people and entities who have supported the Royal Launceston Show during our tenure at both the Inveresk Precinct and at Quercus Park. We hope that you all continue to be a part of one of northern Tasmania’s most popular events upon its return.
