๐ฒ FESTIVAL OF THE FOREST | WHAT A BEAUTIFUL OPENING DAY!
What a wonderful way to kick off the annual Torimba Festival! ๐
Today we celebrated the official opening of the Festival of the Forest, and what an incredible display of talent, craftsmanship and creativity our community has put together.
Our Torimba Queen Entrants joined us for the afternoon, with Jenny Clarke officially opening the exhibition and Jess Dalgety unveiling a new memorial trophy in honour of Amber Sanatarosa - it was a special moment to recognise and remember a young soul who contributed to the history of this event.
Outside, June Murray hosted an Author Meet & Greet, adding another lovely element to an afternoon celebrating creativity in all its forms.
And then there were the displays themselves!
The craftsmanship, patience and skill behind the woodwork, artwork and creative pieces on show is just incredible. From beautifully detailed timber creations to unique works of art, there is so much to stop and admire. You can only imagine the hours that have gone into bringing some of these pieces to life.
A particularly huge thank you to Anne Harron and her entire team of helpers, who have put countless hours into preparing, organising and setting up this yearโs exhibition. Events like this donโt simply appear overnight, and the work that goes on behind the scenes deserves just as much recognition as the beautiful pieces on display.
The Festival of the Forest has been part of Torimba for years now, and itโs wonderful to see that tradition continuing.
๐ฒ MISSED TODAYโS OPENING? YOU HAVENโT MISSED OUT!
The Festival of the Forest exhibition will be open daily from 9am to 5pm throughout the remainder of Torimba, until Saturday 24 October, at the Festival Hall in Ravenshoe.
We really encourage everyone, locals and visitors alike, to make time to wander through, admire the displays and appreciate the incredible talent on show.
What a beautiful start to Torimba 2026. And weโve still got two big weeks ahead of us! ๐
Your Story. Your Stage.
