A very big thank you to Larraine Sathicq for her excellent coverage in ‘The Beaudesert Times’ of our recent events at Rathdowney Hall. Firstly, for her terrific coverage of the Heritage Ball held recently that celebrated in true style our love of dancing and fun at Rathdowney.
Secondly, Larraine captured our ‘Big Lift’ event with numerous photos and a very well written article that captured the essence of our hall and local community.

‘The Big Lift’ done and dusted. A fantastic group of young people who worked so hard today on jobs all around our community!! An enormous thank you to all the locals who supervised, cooked, cleaned, gardened and helped this event to achieve so much for our community.
These Uni students from Sydney and their supervisors were very impressed with our little town. Little town- Big heart!!

Getting ready at the hall to serve dinner tomorrow night to 40 students and 9 team leaders from University Technology Sydney “Big Lift” volunteer program. Thank you to everyone who has loaned slow cookers and rice cookers so we can cook up some yummy casseroles. And a huge thank you to Margaret who has made lots of trays of apple crumble for dessert. The students will be sleeping overnight on the dance floor, then doing a range of jobs Thursday morning for the Memorial Grounds, The information Centre and The Hall. Rathdowney is their last stop after volunteering in Paterson, Willow Tree, Uralla, Stanthorpe as part of their Winter road trip, helping out rural communities. Thanks to The Big Lift, we are excited to have you in our town.
