Australian Cord Blood Foundation

Australian Cord Blood Foundation The Australian Cord Blood Foundation was formed in February 1998 for the purpose of raising money to support the Sydney Cord Blood Bank.

The Australian Cord Blood Foundation is dedicated to the support of the Sydney Cord Blood Bank in its quest to provide life saving transplantation of blood stem cells for the treatment of leukaemia and other life threatening conditions. For nearly three decades, the Australian Cord Blood Foundation has supported the work of the Sydney Cord Blood Bank - a world-class public cord blood bank and medical research facility based here in Australia.

Did you know?

• The Sydney Cord Blood Bank stores more than 15,000 cord blood units
• SCBB is TGA-licensed and FACT-accredited
• Cord blood units donated by families can support transplantation and advanced medical research
• Research is underway into future cord blood-derived CAR T-cell therapies for children with high-risk cancers
• Cord blood units unsuitable for transplant may still contribute to ethically approved medical research

The Australian Cord Blood Foundation’s sole beneficiary is the Sydney Cord Blood Bank, meaning financial donations to the Foundation directly support this important Australian medical and research capability.

As we approach the end of the financial year, we invite supporters to consider making a tax-deductible financial donation to help support:
• Cord blood collection and banking
• Research and translational medicine
• Future cellular therapies
• Improved outcomes for Australian patients and families
