Today, we remember.

We honour the lives lost, the lives forever changed, and all those who continue to carry the pain of that day.

Our hearts are with the families, friends and communities whose lives were changed forever.

We remember. We honour. We stand together. 🕯️

What a wonderful way to start October! 🌸
After the long weekend, we were delighted to welcome our seniors back to The Burger Centre for another full and vibrant day of activities.
Today alone, we had three different programs running:
🎻 Our Social Support group was treated to a beautiful performance by Eric, a talented cello student from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
🎨 Our Outing Group enjoyed a cultural day out visiting the S.H. Ervin Gallery.
💦 And, of course, our popular Aqua-Cise program continued in our purpose-built hydrotherapy pool.
And that’s just one day at The Burger Centre!
Want to discover what else we have on offer across our Randwick and Hunters Hill centres?

🍎🍯 Rosh Hashanah at The Burger Centre

What wonderful Rosh Hashanah celebrations we shared at The Burger Centre! 🍎🍯

Our Centre was filled with the aroma of chicken soup and honey cake, the sound of the shofar, beautiful Jewish music and, most importantly, the warmth of our community coming together.

We were delighted to welcome our special guests, Rabbi Zwarenstein and Rabbi Ulman, who shared meaningful words and stories with our clients.
We also enjoyed wonderful concerts filled with much-loved Jewish songs, creating a truly festive atmosphere. 🎶
As we approach Yom Kippur, we would like to remind our clients and families that The Burger Centre will be closed on Monday, 21 September.
We wish all our clients, families, staff, volunteers and friends observing Yom Kippur a meaningful and easy fast. G’mar Chatima Tova. ❤️

The party of the season – two incredible days celebrating 35 years of The Burger Centre! 🎂🥂
What a celebration! Over two wonderful days, our Randwick, Hunters Hill and Russian-speaking communities came together to mark The Burger Centre’s 35th Birthday.
There was music, dancing, laughter, delicious food, plenty of reminiscing and, of course, birthday cake! Most importantly, we celebrated the people who have made The Burger Centre what it is today – our wonderful seniors, families, staff, volunteers, supporters and community.
For 35 years, The Burger Centre has been a place of friendship, connection, care and belonging for seniors in our community. What started in 1991 continues to grow and evolve, but the heart of The Burger Centre remains the same – our people. ❤️

We were also delighted to welcome Montefiore CEO Robert Orie and Dr Marjorie O’Neill MP, and sincerely thank them for joining our celebrations and addressing our community on this very special occasion.

📸 Check out the images from our celebrations – showcasing the energy, vibrancy and fun that make The Burger Centre such a special place! The smiles, dancing and laughter say it all.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make these two days so memorable.
🎈 35 years young – and there is so much more to come!

Another week, another wonderful adventure with The Burger Centre! 🎨🚌✨
Our social outings continue to take our seniors to some of Sydney’s most fascinating cultural destinations.

This week, one of our groups visited the Art Gallery of NSW to experience the spectacular Avatar: Forms of Vishnu exhibition, while our Russian-speaking group enjoyed a visit to the S.H. Ervin Gallery for the beautiful Olive Cotton: A Life in Photography exhibition. 📸🎨

And, of course, no Burger Centre outing is complete without a lovely lunch, a relaxing walk and plenty of conversation afterwards, sharing impressions and reminiscing together.
What a joy it is to accompany our seniors on these wonderful adventures — discovering new places, experiencing art and culture, and most importantly, enjoying it all in great company. ❤️
Would you like to join us on one of our next outings?
