The Liverpool Range District Bush Fire Danger Period has been brought forward to commence on the 1 September 2026.

This aligns with several neighbouring districts that will also commence their Bush Fire Danger Period on 1 September 2026, while all remaining districts will retain the standard commencement date of 1 October 2026.

The earlier commencement of the Bush Fire Danger Period will see fire permit in place, helping to ensure burning activities are conducted safely and appropriately under current and forecasted seasonal conditions.

Residents are reminded that a fire permit will be required from 1st September 2026.

For further information about the Bush Fire Danger Period or the fire permit process and applications, please contact the Liverpool Range District Office on (02) 6746 5800 or by visiting the NSW RFS website.

🔥HAZARD REDUCTION NOTIFICATION🔥
Tomorrow the 1st of July the RFS will be conducting a Cultural Burn supporting the Walhallow LALC of 5.5 Ha at Walhallow Rd, Walhallow.
As the prescribed burn will generate smoke, hot embers and heat, it is important that you consider the following:
• Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes;
• Keep outdoor furniture under cover to prevent ember burns;
• Retract pool covers to prevent ember damage;
• Remove washing from clotheslines;
• Ensure pets have a protected area;
• If you are driving a vehicle, slow down, keep windows up and turn headlights on;
• If you have asthma or a lung condition, reduce outdoor activities.
If smoke levels are high and if shortness of breath or coughing develops, take your reliever medicine or seek medical advice.
Should any further information be required, please contact the RFS Liverpool Range Office on (02) 6746 5800 between 9am and 5pm weekdays. You can also obtain additional information on prescribed burning and property preparedness by accessing the NSW Rural Fire Service website at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
If weather conditions become unfavourable, the Hazard Reduction burn will be postponed until conditions become suitable.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.
